This is my 4th pair of the Escalate Racers. The shoe is basically perfect, just enough protection and cushioning without losing the connection to the road. They're fast and provide enough help to propel you forward without doing all the work for you. The base is firm, but comfortable. The upper is super light, but also securely locks your foot and ankle in. The Racers work really well for weekly run club, full marathons and everything in between. I ran in Bikila LS and Sprint LS's for over a decade. The wear and tear on my body from the concrete bike paths finally caught up with me. I tried a few other Altras, but they always felt bouncy or spongy to me. The Escalate Racers are the perfect balance between barefoot running and over engineered running shoes. They brought back the joy of running half and full marathons again. I generally replace them every 350 or so miles and hope they never change. Color preference is subjective, but my favorites are the white upper with the blue heel and the light blue upper with the yellow heal. I chose the dark grey with the orange heal this time (something different). It's fine, but the colors were probably chosen by someone who is a DC comics fan.

Set my PR in the 5k; 10k; and Marathon in these shoes. Fit true to size and feel awesome to wear for every run. Please find a way to ship these to Canada! I have to order to my friends place.

These shoes are awesome! Exactly what I have been looking for, extremely breathable and light weight. Lots of toe space; sole perfect cushion my knees; and heal support excellent. I only wear them for casual everyday use.

I have only worn racers since 2019. I wear them on long runs, short runs, and speed workouts. I worry that you guys might stop making them one day since the company is going in a new direction.

Shoe feels springy and fast, I have no complaints about the shoe itself. It needs a wide version and better color ways; natural looking color ways would be great.

I absolutely LOVE this shoe! I don't have a bad thing to say about them! I have used them for distance runs as well as Interval Workouts. PLEASE don't change these shoes! They are the BEST shoe Altra has. Not to mention I can flat FLY in these shoes!

I use this product for work. Great on the feet for long hours walking and standing, the heel locks well, and my toes can spread out on them. The zero heel drop is good too.

These shoes are great, but why did you remove the black color option!? Please bring it back. Not everyone wants one of these loud color options.

I've been using them as a replacement for my HIIT workouts. They are lighter and far more comfortable than my onclouds. They also seem more well made.

One of the only customizable items in a Soldier's repertoire are their running shoes. As a running coach, it's wonderful to have other leaders regularly compliment that choice.

I've been kicking these around for years now and every time they don't disappoint! Why mess with perfection - thanks Altra! My go to fast trainers and racers. They even hold up well for Halfs and Fulls. If you dont have a pair in the closet or in your rotation - why?

I'm an overweight woman with a slightly fallen arch on my right foot. I've lost 70lbs and needed a lightweight shoe with arch support so I can progress from walking to jogging easier. PERFECT SHOE!!!

I've tried so many running shoes including all the major super shoes. I always come back to the Escalante Racers. I use them for training and racing both. Typically get about 400+ miles out of them.

Love the Escalante racers! I'm using these as my go-to daily's. I also have the Escalante 3 and the racers are far superior. Great shoe, lightweight and breathable

I only recently discovered the racer was a 'remake' of the escalante 1.5 with how the toe box feels and minimal cushioning and I feel in love again after having the escalante 2 & 3. best feeling run!

I've been on the barefoot journey for over a year now and was hesitant to use any shoe with a cushion or non-zero drop. Then I realized the pavement is just brutal with barefoot shoes and I stopped running. Enter my search for a zero drop, foot-shaped shoe with minimal padding. The Escalante Race ticked all the boxes for me. They're super light and highly breathable and provide just enough padding while running on asphalt without feeling like I'm totally cheating on being a "barefoot" guy. If you're trying to compromise between being a committed barefoot person, while also not hammering your joints while running, look no further.

Great for tempo and and races up to half marathon. Will try on my next long run and have a feeling they will work just fine. I've been very happy with this shoe.

i was on the fence about what size to order. i am my true 9.5 in the escalante 2.5. i bought these in a size 10 and very happy with the choice.

I love these shoes and have had several pairs but I can't for the life of me understand why they don't just come out with the color in black. It's honestly pretty ridiculous and while they seem to have caught on with their other models, I wish they were just make a pair of these in black. I would buy another pair today but I'm waiting for a not so god awful color to come out.

This is the only shoe I can find out of their selection that has any flex to it. I would love to have a couple different choices on materials and a little more cushion. I think if they made their other does more flexible it would solve the problem.

I wanted something light and low to train and race in. This fits the bill and it looks good doing it. Very breathable as well.
