I was worried because this is a newer sizing of the old version. Older reviews should that they fit perfect for toddlers (whom I was purchasing for) and it fits my 2 year old great. Would likely fit on my 10 year old as well.

This thing is great! We got it for my 2.5 year old to wear under his bike helmet. His head is 20", if that's helpful for other potential buyers. I was concerned that he wouldn't be able to pull the lower part down under his chin, but that's no problem. Also, for what it's worth, the balaclava is stretchy enough to fit my adult sized head comfortably, so I'm sure we'll have this thing forever. It's great quality and very warm.

4 year old just wore it on a snowy hike and seemed very comfortable! She had it pulled up over her nose for most of it, and even when it was wet from condensation and her breathing, she still seemed warm. Love that it is natural fiber.

This is super comfortable and warm, and easy for my 7 year old to get on and off. Not too tight so he can easily pull the fabric under his chin when needed. Thin enough that ot works under a hood or helmet.

I bought the Smartwool Kids' Thermal Merino Balaclava for my two kids (ages 3 and 6) and it has been one of the best winter gear purchases we've made. The merino wool is incredibly soft no itching, no complaints, and no red marks on their faces, which is a big deal with kids. Both of my kids usually try to pull off anything uncomfortable, but they were happy to keep this on for long periods, even during outdoor play. It provides excellent warmth without being bulky, keeping their heads, ears, neck, and cheeks protected in cold and windy weather. We used it for everything from school drop-offs to snow tubing, sledding and winter hikes, and it kept them warm the entire time. The fit is great for both ages. It stretches well, stays in place, and doesn't slip into their eyes or bunch up around the neck. Overall, this balaclava is warm, breathable, durable, and super comfortable exactly what you want for young kids in winter. I'd absolutely buy it again and highly recommend it to parents looking for reliable cold-weather protection

My son loves wearing this. It is stretchy, not too thick and still warm. It stays in place with an active 4 year old boy.

Love it. A little thicker than what we are used to, but fits great and can be worn as hood or balaclava by 4 yr old.

It's the best balaclava hat I've found in years. I love it that it's not too thick and not too thin. It's thick and warm enough to actually serve as a hat in cold weather yet it's thin enough to be layered underneath a cute hat on VERY cold weather. I like it that it's very snug around the face. I wish it were a bit stretchier so a kid can pull it down like a gaiter when indoors but I guess that's why it's so snug around the face.

This fits great and our son loves it! It's lightweight and fits perfectly under his bike and ski helmets for some added warmth!

This balaclava has too many seams running down the front of it to be comfortable. It's also quite tight on my small six-year-old, so I can't believe it is a "one size" fits all kids. I wanted something made with natural materials, and thought merino would be soft, but it feels quite scratchy. I unfortunately will be returning it.
