These boots look great and they're comfortable. I use them when I'm taking easy hikes in the park with my chocolate lab. They make my footing more secure in wet and muddy places.

I love the color and feel of the boots but the string situation is a little annoying. You have the tie the boots so tight to get them to stay in the metal hooks.

These are my new snow boots. So far so good. Keep warm but does not over kill it. Just wish the laces would be more heavy duty more like the traditional boots.

I'll start off by saying I was turned on by Timberland boots about 9 years ago when I bought my first pare of Earthkeeper winter boots with smart wool. The pair of boots were amazing being worn regularly for the day got them. My feet never got sore, wet or cold. Unfortunately the toe started to separate from the sole on one of the boots so it was no longer water proof. So time to purchase a new pair. I wanted something exactly like what I had before as the boots lasted 9 years. Timberland no longer carried the exact boot I had all these years so this was what I determined on my own as the closest replacement. The guys at Timberland Minneapolis had not been with the company long enough to know anything about the pair of boots I was trying to replace. This boot was very warm from the get go and very easy to slid my foot in and out of and was very easy to lace up which is all good when going outside in the winter with dogs. The tread on the soles looks promising with a deep pattern also. So after a month of wearing these boots every day in Minnesota winter. I've determined that these boots are very warm and I am confident my feet won't get cold. When going for long walks my feet do feel the soles of the boot so I think they could use a better foot bed, the boot is a little narrow for my feet but I'm hoping they will stretch out with time. The biggest difference I noticed about these boots was that they are slippery on wet and packed snow surfaces. Great in deep snow but just walking on a packed snowy road they slip a lot more than my old pair did. I put my old pair on for kicks and walked on the same snow packed road and they did not slip at all. So I think the soles could be improved. Lacing the boots is very easy and I have not had any issues with the laces coming loose on me, no need to double the knot either. I would recommend these boots more for non wet/snowy conditions. I would worry about hiking on rocky/mountainous terrain that is wet.

I am wearing them for the fourth time since I bought them a week ago. There are four eyelets and two hooks on each side and if you pull the laces too tight through the hooks, you might wind up with a bruised ankle bone from its rubbing against the inside of the boot. This is unlike the two older boots I bought from Timberland where I laced them up as tight as I wanted to with no rubbing. You can't pull these too tight.
The good new is that you can pull the laces at the four eyelets as tight as you want and the boot feels comfortable with no rubbing. Something to think about. I would only recommend these boots if you heed the warning.
