I can fit all my daily carry in here. I have textbooks, one notebook, one folder and my computer (Google Pixelbook with case) in the main compartments. I must admit though, my textbooks/computer are quite small compared to most people's needs. I can also fit my gym clothes but only if I fold them very neatly.
The front pockets are excellent for organization and quite roomy, but the length of the zippers on the bottom three pockets are shorter than the length of the pocket so it can be difficult to get things in and out. The water bottle pockets are big enough for me (I can fit a 1L Camelbak Chute water bottle in one and a contigo thermos in the other) but they are on the small size and probably won't fit a Nalgene.
My one real complaint is that the top strap is attached in such a way that only one edge of the strap is supporting the whole weight of the bag and I'm worried about it breaking over time.
I picked the yellow color and it's the perfect shade being bright and attractive but not too obnoxious (think marigold yellow). All in all I really like the bag and am willing to downsize to add it to my daily carry.

Great bag the top pocket for cell phone could have two zippers for easier access and the front side pockets could maybe zip the opposite way (down) but other than that my backpack rocks thanks TIMBUK2

I love your products. I wish I could have gotten someone to pick up the phone to answer a few questions. If so, I would have bought another bag by now.
This one needs a few more pockets inside that I can use. Padding for the laptop is great.
Again, love the company. Own 3 of your products. But customer support really let me down. I looked through everything on the website but needed a real person to help with my few questions.

I bought this backpack for school (college) because I wasn't so keen on carrying my messenger for school. I'm on campus majority of the day and some days straight from work. I wanted a bag that could fit my school stuff (a 3-subject notebook, laptop, headphones, and some books) plus maybe my work clothes or a few other small items. My main problem with this backpack is the width/opening. The length/depth are great, but for example, my notebook doesn't fit with my Beats Studio case which I realize is a rather large case, but should still fit in a standard backpack nonetheless. My other problem is that I have relatively wide shoulders and these straps slip off constantly because of how close they are adhered at the top. I love the backpack and the sturdiness as well as the color, but it does fall short of my everyday expectations as a working college student. I've since switched back to the messenger bag and use a separate one for work.

I wanted to love Timbuk2 very badly but the weak construction of this backpack disappointed me. Around New York, I've seen a lot of Timbuk bags. When I retired my laptop backpack of 8 years, I decided to give Timbuk a try and bought this backpack. When I received it, there was a fray and 2 threads sticking out of this one area. A month in using the backpack, I can see a small opening had developed. I didn't even use that slot often. The opening eventually got bigger. Basically, that area of the backpack wasn't sewn on properly. This happening makes me apprehensive about buying from Timbuk because I don't know how sturdy their other products will be. :(

The quality of the back is very good the zippers are very strong and I can tell it will last but I use the backpack for school and I only have two books notebook and a light blanket and scarf in it and the backpack is so heavy on my back I'm 5"3 145 and don't have back problems but over all it is a good backpack for a bigger person lol maybe my big brother can deal with the weight of this pack

Purchased online. First the good: it's a well made bag, comfortable and strong, well made with quality materials. Nice pockets, good zippers. The small pockets in the front are a little hard to access.
Now the bad: Took longer to arrive than expected (11 days using 2 day shipping, domestic). The bag smells bad, like old fish. It has been a few days and it's airing out, so I expect that will go away eventually. I bought it for a large 17" laptop - fit is VERY snug. Practically doesn't fit. I think the laptop has a bigger form factor than a normal 17" so might work better on another model.
My advice is to purchase it in person so that you can make sure that it fits your laptop correctly and it doesn't smell bad. Otherwise nice bag.

I ordered this online after seeking a larger, well organized bag for some time. I wish I had been able to try it on first as it's very stiff, the straps are very wide, and the back does not have as much ventilation as I had hoped for. I use it for school and it fits most of my books, but if I load it right up, it's very uncomfortable and heavy, forget about being comfortable while cycling as it feels like a board against your back and the thick straps dig into my arms and neck. The bottom outer pocket is difficult and awkward to access, and the side pockets are roomy for their size but the opening is tight. Furthermore, this bag offers next to no water repellency, I had to fork out another $20 for a weather cover. I really expected more from the brand.

I loved the look and color of this backpack but unfortunately when it arrived it was too stiff and not roomy at all. My 17" laptop barely fit in it and after the laptop there was almost no room for anything else. The side pocket for bottles is also tiny and my 32 ounce bottle would not fit in it.
I'd recommend this to whoever doesn't need much space and is about the looks. I don't recommend this for people who want a backpack for school, hiking, etc.
I went in their actual store and exchanged this for a different one and I'm happy!
