I was looking for some chelsea style boots with a low or no heel, that I could wear all day while exploring the city either at home or on a trip. I wanted them to be waterproof or water resistance, and ideally they would also look kind of nice so I could walk into a nicer restaurant or bar and not feel dumpy (and maaaybe a casual work setting). Also, i have wide feet, so regular widths rarely work well for me. I ordered 4 pairs of boots (Teva and Olukai in regular width, and another Hush Puppy style in a wide size) and these Cately hikers were the most comfortable. The sole is nice and cushy and they don't pinch my toes. The laces do help provide some room for adjustment too. I wasn't sure if i really loved the style of these, but every time i look down at my feet i like them more and more. Hush Puppy confirmed to me that these aren't made of the "worry free suede" that is water and scuff resistant, so I bought some nikwax spray on waterproofing treatment; hopefully that helps some. Overall I'm very pleased with these shoes!

Very comfortable, squishy soles. The fit is very true to what I was expecting - I got a 9 wide and they fit perfectly. My main complaint is the laces have heavy gold tips that bounce around with every step - a good shoe if you want people to hear you coming!

I have a very hard to fit foot when it comes to finding boots (very high arches/insteps, very narrow heels, average width forefoot, skinny ankles). I also wanted something with removable insoles that I can replace with my own orthotics. The combination of the lace up style and the unlined, very flexible suede uppers are very accommodating to odd shaped feet like mine. The included insoles are rather slick (your feet will slide around if the boot is too big!) and don’t have much support, but I easily replaced them with my own insoles. I did keep these boots, but after wearing them for a few days I have noticed some things that annoy me. The metal ends on the laces often clink against the metal parts of the boot and can be rather loud in a quiet room. The top half of the tongue bunches up and pooches out after you walk a bit — the tongue loop that you thread the laces through should really be higher. Finally, the soft, unlined suede uppers provide no ankle support if that’s important for you.

Love these boots! Exactly what I was looking for. Fashionably comfortable. Putting my feet in these was a dream.

Keeping these cute hikers. I ordered a wide width and they fit perfect. . The only reason for the 4 star overall & comfort rating are they should have some type of lining (no lining) & arch support.

I hope Hush Puppies continues to make boots like these. So cute, and the footbed is really comfortable. The fit was just slightly off for me in that the back of the boot was digging into my ankles a bit at the top, and my heel slid around even though it was the right size. It's possible it would have broken in over time, but I decided to go with the lower Catelyn instead.

Love these! They are so unique, I’ve never seen anyone with boots like these and I love that. I’m a teacher and they are as comfortable at the beginning of the day as at the end. They lack a little arch support but are so much more supportive than your typical fashion boots. As for the stiff zipper, I’ve never had problems with the zippers being stiff and I barely hear the laces clicking. Overall love them!

I normally do not buy wide width shoes. When I ordered these boots I ordered wide because I wanted to wear thick socks with them and they looked a tad narrow. The boots fit fine, but NO WAY are they wide. Someone with actual wide feet would likely return these. I double checked the shoe is stamped wide large on the inside. I’m lucky that I didn’t need wide and will keep them (I think) but buyer beware if you have wide feet.

These boots are nice. I know that I will enjoy wearing them. I liked the style and the lighter weight. The only complaint I'd have is the back zipper. It seems kind of stiff and hard to zip, but I am hoping that it will function more smoothly with more use.

Wide width isn’t truly wide. It’s still pretty narrow. Also the back zipper at the top rubs on the back of your ankle. They are cute, but not the most comfortable for me.

The fit and style were OK but the top of the boot felt rough on my ankle even with socks. and would have rubbed a raw spot if these boots were worn for any length of time. Also the suede finish was already marked up even though the shoes were brand new and in a short time would have looked very scuffed. For these reason I return the boots.

These shoes are not wide fit. The sole is normal/narrow and the soft sides spread. Also they smelled awful out of the box. I’m returning them. Very disappointed.

I am actually returning this item. The zipper up the back was entirely to rigid for me. I knew there would be a need to break them in, but the back of the heel zipper was so stiff I couldn't wear them at all. Disappointed as the rest of the fit and style I was very happy with. Still a huge Zappos fan, this just didn't work out for me.

Cute style, but one shoe had a couple of manufacturing defects. Not much arch support, so I returned these.

These felt great on my feet. I'm a 7.5 and recently discovered I need to buy wide shoes otherwise my bunyonettes on my small toes get irritated. The soft suede would be very forgiving on your feet. The hush puppy insert was comfortable although I would need to add more arch support I think. I didn't like how the laces can't be removed. The metal ends are bigger than the eyelets so you can't replace them or take off to wash. The metal ended laces had an annoying tapping on your foot in motion. Also laced up the ankle area looked bunched and awkward. Lacing around the ankle didn't seem right which I like to do for support and to have less lace tied up front. My boot came with a defective lace. I decided overall I need a heavier duty boot for city and hike wear in Minneapolis weather. These were a little more casual wear than I want. So comfy! But the ankle and the use I need had to return. Zappos was great with communication on returning a defective item and the free easy returns on everything is great.
