I live in the Midwest, sometimes you need more than a long sleeve shirt, but less than a coat. This vest is perfect for keeping your core warm.

Use it nearly every day in fall, winter and spring. Excellent first jacket layer for wading and float tube fly fishing. Fits well inside waders over medium heavy shirt and undershirt. Also used for hunting, nature photography, and other recreational pursuits. Works well in misting, light rain.

I don't wear coats because I get to hot, so this vest is perfect. It keeps me warm but does not overheat me.

Worn casually and semi-dress. Favorable compliments.

Great product as usual by our friends at North Face, overall it's a vest. There are no two ways around it. It's solid in it's construction, and the material feels like you can get years of use from it but it is not warm. I have a Lucky Brand vest that is nearly a winter coat-esq without sleeves, just very warm to use...this on the other hand, is more of a gym/cycle/running/hiking vest in moderate temperatures and could even be used a base layer with something over it. Again, this is not a "bad" vest, just nothing warm if your looking for warmth, it's more for casual use in 65+ degree weather.

This is a great vest for cool weather. The breast pocket is perfect for my cell phone.

Great product

I wear this vest often. Usually just around town for a night out with the boys. However, it's perfect for hiking on those days that it's just a tad bit too cold for a shirt and too warm for a full jacket. My only complaint is that this review form asked how the sleeve length was. Well, I can't review sleeve length unless there's an option for attachable sleeves that I missed. Disirregardless, this is one of, if not, the best vests I have ever purchased. It's really changed my life for the better. Just wearing this vest makes me feel like I can conquer anything. Mountains, forests, small critters, pets; you name it, I can conquer it. Just the other day I put on this vest and immediately felt the need to conquer something. So I grabbed my pet cat, piper, ( I named her that because she's really loud) and we went to the local dump to climb trash mountain. I had to fight off a few trash pandas to get to the summit but once there I planted my family's coat of arms, claiming yet another great landmark for my decendants to admire. The adventure was great and the vest is better. 5/7 perfect score.

A little more form fitting for a large but still fits nice. Very warm and comfortable as it should be for the price.

This is my fourth or fifth Northface garment. They've all been great and this one is no exception. I am pleasantly surprised at how great it looks.

This was a gift for my son, and he's happy with it. The fit seems true to size, and it's a light weight fabric.

This would be the perfect vest if it were not for one minor design flaw. The zipper at the top needs a protective wrap (like on other North Face products), that prevents it from scraping or irritating you neck and face. If they had merely backed the zipper, this would be the perfect vest. They do it on other vests, so I'm not sure why they did not do it on this one. Otherwise, this vest if great!
