Rubber on heal peeled right off on day 1... This is the kind of super boot build and price that you might expect the heal to stay on for at least a week. Very disappointing, because the boots are cool looking.

I did not see the reviews of the Wolverine Montague Chelsea before buying these and wish I had. As with those boots, the heel on these came loose after 3 times wearing them. I had the boots literally for 6 days before both heels came off! It is all over the web about the Chelsea boots having this problem, and it is the same with the zip boots. You can buy six pairs of WalMart boots for this price and I am sure the damn heel will not fall off after wearing them 3 times! They look great, but don't do it!!

Other reviews mention the outside heel layer peeling off. After this started happening. I opened these us with my cobbler and we found that an entire layer of the 'leather' outsole is actually cardboard! Paid $100+ to have these resoled with genuine leather. Decent boots otherwise, but I did not expect cardboard in the sole. I've had good luck with other Wolverine 1000 mile boots, and the others were all made in the US. These zip boots are made in Mexico. Caveat emptor.
