This is my second pair of "Tremblant 6" Polar Waterproof Ice" boots. The fit is great, the leather is full grain and takes waterproofing well ( I recoat it fairly often), and there is enough warmth to make most winter activities comfortable. I'm in Montana and this works well for most tasks, after which I go into a standard Sorel pac. So why is it just shy of perfect? It's the Vibram "Arctic Grip Technology" that has been disappointing. It certainly offers some grip on wet snow and ice, but it is not up to the task on many days. I'm sure the Vibram people tried many combinations with varying amounts of pumice in the rubber ... too much would wreak havoc on floors and polished surfaces, and too little would be no different from ordinary Vibram ... but it needs to be better. I still use Trax on treacherous days. I've had many a near miss fall on wet ice and feel in those situations that there is no protection at all. I really like the boot and hope that my next purchase will show improvement in the "Arctic Grip" feature. It's time for "Arctic Grip .2"

As a woman, I find women's boots do not fit me unless I can find them in a wide width or go up a whole size larger than I actually take; so I purchase men's boots. These boots are very good for out in the barn and walking across icy pastures. So far my feet have stayed warm and dry. Unfortunately, I can't give a 5 star rating because footbed insert on the right foot came out the 2nd time I wore them. Now I need to purchase replacement inserts for them. Hopefully, I can find inserts that work for these.

Perfect fit! Soft leather makes this shoe very comfortable. I use them for work and casual weekend wear.

Last year, I was attracted to the "waterproof ice+ jungle moc" after a slip and fall on glaze ice. I wore them through the winter, and the new non-slip sole did indeed reduce slides on ice, but the moc is a low cut shoe and not much help in more than three inches of snow. I was looking for a leather based low boot which offered insulation, waterproofing, and the ice+ sole, the Tremblant, and ordered it this Fall. It seems well thought out, but I've had little opportunity yet to really give it a winter workout. It's well made, fits perfectly, looks presentable for any occasion, and will hopefully last. My biggest problem with the Merrell products is separation between leather and rubber which many have complained about, but it's too early to tell if this new product will follow suit. I give it a 4* only because it has yet to prove its durability. There must be a way to prevent the separation problem!

It's a very good pair to have especially when it's cold and icy. Very happy about them.

After having these boots for a month, I have two notable issues. They are really difficult to put on. I fear I’m going to rip the pull-on tabs and that would not be good. Heavier socks makes pulling them on nearly impossible and very frustrating. Secondly, the tops of these boots are more oval shaped than they are round. As a result the inside edges of the tops are rubbing on my upper ankle/shin and if worn for an extended period they begin chafing and causing irritation. The boots(when I get them on) are a good size fit. The interior is comfortable in terms of width and the support is good. I hoping the I can find a solution to resolving putting the boot on. They are for wet, cold weather so a heavier sock should be more helpful than an ordinary thin cotton stocking. I’ll likely keep them but be aware of these issues.

The stitching around the inside of the elastic panel was very rough and abraded my ankles, the stitching was not flush with the inside lining. Consequently I have not worn them much. I am still considering returning them.

I have had a few pairs of Moabs in the past and the size 9 was perfect in those so I got the same size in these for work around the environmental center where I don't need a full boot this winter. The size 9 in these are just a bit too loose on me making them awkward in some conditions because the heel isn't holding. All in all love these boots just wish they were true to size. If I could return for a half size down I would but, I think I've worn them too much already out of necessity.

My only complaint, I bought these specifically for the snow for working in Afghanistan. Maiden voyage into the snow and slush, my socks on both feet became wet (not soaked). Not sure if they needed to be treated first, the box the shoes came in did not have a leather treatment in it. I like the boots and continue to wear them, just a little disappointing.

I bought these boots particularly for the promised traction on ice, as I live in Ottawa and there is ice for several months a year. The boots behave like any other boots on ice, slippery and with no traction. Nothing like the Merrell commercials, I ended up using these boots with cleats, like all the others. Not worth the price, otherwise they are true to size, and comfortable.

Love the look and what seems like a quality built product but the size of the heel area was too large for me. I rarely have a problem with a shoe not feeling true to size so I was surprised and disappointed to have to return. I tried adding heel support and it helped but I couldn’t justify $200 for a shoe that didn’t fit perfect on its own.

Comfortable shoe, not too hard to get on. My main issue is that these boots started to come unglued around the toe and heel area within 30 days of wear (non daily but alternating wear between 4 other pairs of boots). For a $200+ boot, I expected more wear before they begin to fall apart. This is the first issue I’ve ever had with this brand and I believe they still make an excellent shoe. I think this particular instance was an isolated lapse in quality control. Hope this review makes it to the manufacturer and they resolve this issue with this particular boot and that they continue to make an exceptional product as they always have.

This boot is very light and comfortable. However not much durable. I have been using a pair for about a month and they are already looking old. The glued part right above the heel is peeling off. Recommended sewing stitch rather than only gluing.

I have been wearing a pair of Merrell Polarland Rove Zip Waterproof for several years now. These are some of the best boots I have had in my entire life of 63 years. When I was looking for another pair of boots, I went to look at what Merrel had first. I found a pair of the Men's Tremblant 6" Polar Waterproof Ice+ in size 14 and decided they were the ones for me to wear other times I did not want to wear my Polarland. These Tremblant are fantastic boots they fit great and are well made. The only thing that bothered me was that the insole is just a cheap piece of foam. My Polarland had what was called Active Heat and it really makes a difference. It has foil and fabric in the construction that reflects and holds heat on the bottom of my foot. The Tremblant are actually a more expensive boot and yet they are of lesser quality because of this insole. I called Merrel to try and get the active heat insoles but they are not available. I looked on the internet and can not find anything like them. Merrell, it was a big mistake not keeping the Active Heat insole.

Run large, causing some internal movement of the heel. As a result, the seam between the side elastic and the leather rubbed a raw spot in both ankles, through wool socks! So they had to go back, customer service great.

Lesson learned, this is second time Ive purchased on line. Their boots are very small, so if you ever order boots, you need to go 2 sizes up from your actual size. I couldn't even get my foot in the boot. Great looking shoe though

I just bought these and after a week they're all scuffed up and they look like I wore them in a gravel pit. Yes, I wear them for work everyday. They're light and comfortable, but I have to say, they're embarrassing to look at just after 2 weeks of wear. Too bad
