Pros: Good fit and sized as expected. These boots are comfortable and stylish. They are warm and the grip is good, though I haven't had a chance to try them out on a really icy day. Cons: Clearly Merrell has some QC issues with these boots. 2 pair that I ordered had to be exchanged: one for poorly glued seam issues and another for tears and scuffs in the leather on arrival. They don't quite live up to being "waterproof." Any water deeper than the very bottom of the tongue immediately makes its way into the shoe, so avoid puddles more than 1.5-2 inches deep. They will stay dry in a light rain.

I love the look and comfort of these boots. But as far as functionality, it simply misses the mark. The upper hooks are so close together when I lace them up tight, it causes the laces to flex off the hooks. I'm retying them all the time. I started wrapping the laces around the ankle of the boot and tying them that way. The other issue is they simply do not keep my feet dry. They are fashionable boots, but far from functional or practical.

They are water resistant but not water proof. The insulation not for winter really. Still needs a winter sock. But what bother me the most is you said waterproof and theyre not.

Great looking boot. Warm. At first the fit is phenomenal, really well supported in the arch and ankle. But after walking around it is immediately clear that the boot is way too loose. So I get a half size down. Half a size down is too tight! How could a half size be so different, and neither fit???

I gave these boots a chance because the features matched perfectly with my reality and I get really cold very fast but my toes felt wet after wearing them 3 times. The customer service has been great to send me a replacement and even changing the size because their size ran bigger. I'm just hoping it's a problem with the product and not the line of production.

Used them for less than 2 weeks and sole is already separating from the leather.

Just wondering if you might make a style with composite toes or steel toe?

After buying several pairs of Merrell boots that are marked waterproof, none of which were. You are extremely correct. Anything above 1.5 inches finds its way into the boot. This is a consumer product issue and Merrell needs to step up and address this problem. I have always enjoyed the boots I have bought and like the previous reviews, have found the seam separates very easily.
