Customer Reviews Merrell Trail Glove 4 Shield

I ordered both an 8.5 and a 9 and the 8.5 was the right size. I sometimes wear a whole size larger in running shoes but other reviewers suggested only going up 1/2 size from your normal one. That is the right call. They are great looking and should be perfect for my upcoming trip to Mexico.

Comfortable. Great for trail hiking/running

I loved this shoe immediately, and that almost never happens! Super light and totally comfortable. I had another Merrell shoe, so I knew to order one half size larger. The tongue attachment on one side was springy and the elastic laces added to the overall "fit like a glove." The treads look like they will definitely keep me safe. Cannot wait to pack these for my travels.

Search no further. These are the perfect style and fit if you love a non-bulky, low profile sneaker. I usually get Puma, but these are the best I have found. Love these shoes. I just may buy another color.

These were perfect from the gitgo............that's a very rare occurrence for me. I have terrible feet with bunions and raised second toe; pain and burning if I wear any shoe more than 2 hours.........I forgot I had these on after my volunteer job of 3 hours!! Also we don't wear socks much here in Florida, so they are just right for sockless wear...Very happy with them.

These shoes are lightweight and I was able to wear immediately without worrying about breaking them in. I plan on packing these and know they will not only add minimal weight but will also take up very little space in my suitcase.

I've had multiple pairs of these Merrells over the years. They fit from first wearing, are super comfortable, reasonably durable, and perfect for moderate hikes in the woods and more general use. I wear them all the time. With this new pair, I had to go up 1/2 size though the size of my feet certainly hasn't changed. I'm also looking forward to seeing if they are water resistant as the one drawback with earlier pairs is that any small puddle seeped right in.

Pretty good shoe but looks a little like a water shoe and feels kind of rubbery. Im sure it would be a good shoe just not my preferred style. Overall pretty comfortable

This is a comfortable shoe! I was able to put them on and wear them without any breaking-in period. I wear and 8 and this is what I initially ordered; however, I had to return them for and 8 1/2 as my toe was hitting the end of the shoe. Zappos was as always, wonderful with the exchange. Cute and comfortable shoe!!

I'm a huge fan of the Vapor Glove for long walks and hikes. However, in wet and muddy conditions they aren't the best, so I thought I'd try these. Unfortunately for me, I found the fit to be quite different. I do have pretty wide feet and these shoes are much more structured than the Vapor Glove. Probably as a result (and not uncommon for me) I found them a bit narrow, not too bad, but enough that I became quite aware of the space at the edge of the footbed and side of the shoe. Also they were a bit longer in the same size so that I would probably need to go down a half size to get a similar fit to the Vapor Glove--but then they'd definitely be too narrow. I put true to width above, because I would say that they were an average width, it is just that I'm not.
