This shell is exactly what I was looking for: lightweight (ish), GORE-TEX, long enough to be considered a worthwhile ski jacket in powder, helmet compatible hood, etc. I usually wear a women's medium size in jackets, so I purchased a medium here. The size is perfect for throwing a puffy or other layers under, although I would say the arms are quite long and baggy in the elbows and lower arm.

Similar to another reviewer, I too loved everything about this jacket. Features, materials and overall fit, except the extremely pinched armpits. Wearing only a base layer, the jacket fits well but after layering with an Atom LT or Proton the pinching in the armpit was very uncomfortable and noticeably I felt restricted moving my arms across my chest. To provide perspective, I've been a Size Medium in 6 Arcteryx jackets previously with no complaints. Sizing up to Large felt like I was swimming in fabric. The Beta AR is my second option that fits better, but if I could, I'd still love the length and features of this jacket instead. If only....

I had the chance to put this jacket to the test recently in New Zealand. We touristed around in the rain and had the opportunity to ski Mt Cook. We had all weather conditions and I stayed warm and dry. I felt comfortable and never thought much about the jacket. When I don't think about the pieces I am wearing that means I like!!

I purchased this jacket because it is lightweight.I ski and am 100% human powered so the lighter the better. I am 5'2" 125 37" chest 28" waist 31" low hip and 36 seat. I have very broad shoulders. I went with the medium this jacket. I also tried a large and felt there was the same amount of shoulder restriction in both the medium and the large but, the medium fit better in the body (still too much fabric in the hips for me!). I can fit a midlayer underneath comfortably. I love the pockets! The chest pockets are awesome they sit above a harness or a waist belt. Internal pockets fit goggles or skins. Overall this jacket feels bombproof and lightweight which is exactly what I'm looking for!

I'm so bummed- I want to love this jacket but just can't. It is perfect in almost every way- the long cut, the colors, the high quality material, light weight for ski touring. The thing hanging me up is the weird cut of the armpits. It's almost like they cut the coat at a right angle and left no room for layering underneath, which is strange because the coat fits really well in every other spot. It isn't terribly uncomfortable or restrictive but when my arms are at my sides, they get a weird crease going up towards my shoulder and I don't even have particularly large arms/shoulders. I really hope Arc'teryx changes this for next season- then this coat will be perfect!

Very sad to have spent so much, and the wind just rushes through on the chairlift or the slopes while riding down. Totally disappointed that i wasted my money, its also not appropriate for backcountry at all, as it will not keep you warm.

I have been looking for a great ski shell as I am an East Coast resident and my insulated setup is usually too much for the conditions where I ski. This jacket was the perfect answer! I was nervous about getting the sizing right, as the reviews were back and forth about whether to size up or stick to your normal size. I ended up following the size guide exactly with my measurements, which put me in a small (5'4", 130lbs, 34A). I wear a medium in the Atom jacket so I was hesitant to size "down" in a shell, but I'm so glad I did! The small fits perfectly with room for layers as well! This shell kept me dry all day and was warm enough with only a base layer underneath! The only downside is that the powder skirt sits just a bit high for my liking when it's clipped into the sentinel bibs (probably would've been a better length in the medium), otherwise zero complaints!! I hope this jacket lasts me forever because it is perfect!!! Most definitely worth the price!

I have worn this coat for the last 4 years and hands down think this is the best jacket I have ever owned. I wear it Backcountry ski touring as well as skiing the resort. If I were to recommend a jacket to anyone this would be the one! My favorite features are the length of the jacket, it fits just below your bottom which is key in so many ways, it hangs below your backpack waist belt so it doesn't ride up and let snow in, keeps it warm while sitting on the chairlift, and it looks good. When you look good you feel good! I also love the pockets on this jacket. The two breast pockets allow for easy access of phone, snacks, go pro etc, sleeve pocket for ski pass, and big inside mesh pocket for hat/ buff. The hood is also great, fits over the helmet with ease and can be adjusted when you are wearing a hat. I size up in this jacket because I prefer a looser look. Im 5'5" and can wear a small just prefer the feel and look of a size bigger.

I bought and loved last year's Sentinel LT- wearing it almost on a daily basis in the mountains! This years fit is more roomy and breathable, perfect for touring- and more mobility.

Really happy with this jacket, it is perfect for touring. Love how lightweight it is and good for layering. When I'm on the hike up or heading down, it's an easy layer to take on and off during the day. The length is one of my favourite things about this jacket and the pocket placement - absolutely in love with all the specs, it is amazing.

I am extremely picky about certain features in jackets: sleeve length, jacket length, pocket placement. I was hesitant about the price tag, but the features make it worth it. I am not a big person (5'6", 125lbs) but I have proportionally long arms. It drives me absolutely crazy when I stretch out my arms and the jacket sleeve fully exposes my wrists. Not so with this jacket - plenty of sleeve! Another pet peeve is a jacket that barely covers my bum. Though this jacket has a decidedly boxy shape, the length is perfect. My bum gets complete coverage, which is great for cold, wet weather. Or even just cold weather. I agree with a couple of reviewers that say a powder skirt is probably not necessary due to jacket length, but I don't mind having it. Pockets - in my mind, you can never have enough! There are SEVEN pockets in this jacket, and the placements are extremely well thought out. Plenty of room to stash kleenex, chapstick, ski pass, extra snacks, or transit passes for commuting. And after all that there is room to spare for my phone and wallet. I am so glad I got this jacket, it will serve me well for years to come. For reference, I am a 34A bra size with a 29" waist (I blame this on my 2 kids, lol), and size M fits me great with room for a Cerium LT (M) or Atom LT hoody (M) underneath.

Perfect jacket for skiing! I purchased a size small (I am 5'2" and 115lbs) and the arm and body length was perfect. I was surprised, since I typically purchase a medium in jackets (I have a long torso). There was enough room to fit a layer underneath and was able to move around freely.

I search for a while for the perfect jacket to hike in the winter. I liked that the shell is longer so that it doesn't lift when wearing my backpack. There are enough pockets and the zipper underarm is a nice feature.

I got this jacket about 5 months ago and its been great. I wear it skiing and also out and about. Fit and features have been spot on, the material is robust and keeps me dry in prolonged periods out in wet-weather. This fits true to size, if you want a more roomy fit, size up.

I bought this weary at first because I am taller however I didn't know if I was going to love the length- turns out that for skiing and touring this is the perfect jacket. Super comfortable and the length and powder skirt keeps me warmer during the cold months. I know this jacket can handle any backcountry conditions! I heard from some people that the arm length was long on the sentinel however I am 5'9 and this jacket was the perfect length in arms and gave me room to wear layers :)

At 5'9" and a full time ski instructor I live for jackets that are long enough for my height without being so generously cut that they swamp me. This one is fantastic! It's fitted enough to be flattering whilst roomy enough to layer underneath and offers amazing freedom of movement. It has plentiful, pack compatible pockets to store snacks and other essentials and is built with the quality I've come to expect in Arc'teryx.

I think this is my favourite jacket I have ever skied in. I never feel my movement restricted and yet it is a super flattering shape. And I love the length. It kept me warm and dry in wind, snow and rain. When the sun comes out and while ski touring the vents give you air or it packs away easily. All I could wish for in a ski jacket. Perfect.

Love this jacket for skiing! Great fit once I ordered the right size! This jacket fits a lot larger than my previous arcteryx jackets! For reference the size small fit me best - I'm 5'6 and 130lbs! Even with a size small I have room for 2 down puffs under my shell on the coldest of days.

My favorite ski shell I have ever owned. It's light and compact enough to carry/wear touring, but also burly enough to ski in every day at the resort. I love the longer length - it keeps snow out and your bum warm and looks great too. 10/10

In love with the length of this jacket - being a taller skier really appreciate it! And the pockets are in all the right spots. Excited to try the powder skirt for the first time, might take some time to get used to. Overall very impressed with the fit.
