Love, love, love Herschel backpack and the design. However, it is a bit big for our Pre-K girl. She is about 40” tall, backpack goes well under her bottom. I suggest Heritage Youth (Big Kids) for that age group.

I purchased this for my 9 year old son and the size of the bag is fine. I wouldn't go any bigger than this for him and I think it would last through middle school. But, we did not care for the big zippers. They do not work smoothly and we found them irritating so I returned it. The material of the bag is thick and kind of stiff. Maybe it will be a durable bag but the zippers were a big no no for us.
