The 10.5, my typical size, was too big. I replaced it with a 10, which was fine. It actually impinged slightly on the top of my right foot, but I switched to thicker socks and walked around the house a bit. Then it fit fine with normal socks. I think the soft nubuck leather must have allowed for this quick, slight stretching. Because of the nubuck they aren't the most supportive, but they are comfortable. They are somewhat heavy, which I expected. Most of that weight is in the sole and heel. One minor beef is that the actual color is more of a brownish tan, not quite that reddish brown as shown on the web site. Nonetheless I am still very happy with my purchase, and I tend to be picky.

I am disappointed in this shoe. I was trying to reorder a Chukka that apparently is no longer carried. So I opted for this Chukka. The leather is soft to the point of not carrying any sort of a shine for more than a few days. The shoe starts to loose its black color and is replaced by a whitish grey color.

First, I have to say I'm impressed with the reviews on Zappos. I bought this Chukka in my normal size (9.5) and a half size smaller (9). Reviewers are correct that a half size smaller hits the spot in length and width. I'm keeping the 9 and I give it a 9 out of ten! It's a keeper.

Instantly comfortable. Leather is excellent quality. Sizes run a full size big. Otherwise Frye makes a well made boot and shoe.

Nice shoe...leather is extremely soft and supple with a nice look. Can go casual and dressy. Happy with the buy.

Nice boots, soft leather, but had to return because the photo doesn't match the color (Dye-dipped Grey is actually grey, not brown like the photo shows). Will definitely consider replacing with another color though.

Nice boot but for the price not a keeper. Leather is soft but feels thin and color is monotone. Right boot has large flaw in leather. Looks like cow had a scar. Very comfortable but no real arch support. Felt like they would stretch and be to big.

I chose a size 8. Normally wear an 8.5. Premium quality materials are used to make these boots. Full leather interior is supple. Rubber leather sole is quiet. Suede is perfectly distressed

As others have said, the boot runs 1/2 size large. Do yourself a favor and step down a half size or buy two pairs and return the other pair.

Even though they are true to size in length, their width forced me to order a half a size up. Too narrow on my feet but great once I went up in size. Great quality and look.

Wish I listened to other reviews instead of Zappos size engine. I have plenty of other Frye shoes but needed to buy these 0.5 size down.

Soft and comfortable but the pictures does not reflect the actual color I had ordered. Selecting the color from the choice menu is an option, but it's impossible to judge what the actual color is.

These seem to run large by half a size. Re ordering smaller size.

Heavy shoe overall and the heel provides an awkward strike to the ground. Just very uncomfortable to walk in. I love the style although the finish is a bit interesting. As others have stated, I can see a grayish hue to the leather.

The picture does not represent what the boot is, which is gray (as the description says).

They look way more brown than grey. But probably the most comfortable boots I’ve ever purchased. You can’t really go wrong with Frye boots. I just wished the color was more of a cooler grey than warm grey.
