As a fairly young wearer of an orthotic insole in one shoe, I have searched high a low for stylish, comfortable, high quality shoes for several years. I'm also a shoe snob, and will willingly pay $600 for a pair of shoes that I know will be a classic style and will be maintainable for many years. When I found the Sperry Gold Cup line, and some of their other loafers and lace up semi-dress shoes, I was elated. These shoes may not be able to be rebuilt like a high end shoe, but they are very high quality, and they are comfortable from the very first moment you put them on. For this new Exeter Penny Loafer - I've been looking for more of a sleek loafer that is like a bit loafer with a thinner sole so I can dress up my style a little more. When I saw these and the similar Essex (non-Gold) Penny, I bought both. The Gold Exeter was 1/2 size too large in my normal size 12, so I returned for the 11 1/2, which fits very well, but still has a 1/4 size of extra roominess that I don't mind. I'm able to wear without socks and it does not slip, but it is not a tight fit like the other size 12 shoes from Sperry that I own (and I've probably bought a majority of the dressy loafers and lace ups in the Gold and non-gold line, maybe 12-15 styles in the past 3-4 years). Styling is very nice on the tan suede color that I bought - love the look (I don't see that model on the Sperry site for some reason). The black leather is a 9/10 on styling if you ask me - the leather is nice looking, but somehow lacks the true "wow" of some of the more expensive lines of shoes. The only nit I have with the Exeter is that it is cut about 1/4" higher on the sides of the shoe, and contacts my ankle bone on the outside just enough to warrant me wearing socks for the first couple of times I've had them on to break that part in a little bit. I wore them (the tan pair) for probably 8 hours, and never noticed my ankle, and really never noticed the shoes at all - which is great for a first time worn shoe! I highly recommend any of the Gold Cup shoes - every pair I have owned is truly high quality, very good looking, and extremely comfortable.

Agree with other reviewers that these are very comfortable and supportive shoes. I am 21 and was looking for shoes to wear to work that don't look too old for me. These are traditional but still modern enough to fill my need. Very comfortable on my feet and great arch support.

1. I like this shoe very much. I would like to know if you sell a Polish/cream that would match the finish/color for this shoe? It would make sense to offer color creams for all for your product line. 2. I have been looking and attempting to purchase a Gold Cup 2 eye boat sho for more than 2 months. I am on the wait list. I realize that you are experiencing a supply chain issue, but it would be nice to know the delivery timeline. Thank you in advance. sM

Solid dress or casual shoe. I wear 9 in most Sperrys, but wear a size 9.5 in everything else. I wish that the "leather" around the heel of the shoe was wood, because then it would not start to come off when I kick my shoes off at the heel. Gold Cup really is top notch; just wish they would bring back the Gold Cup Bill Fish.

Great fit, Sperry sizing simply works for my foot. I love the leather insole and rubber sole with a welt. These should last a long time.

They run 1/2 larger than the boat shoes, but otherwise these are a wonderful pair of loafers.

This is a classy, high quality shoe. Great for hanging out or dressing up just a bit ( not too much).

These are very comfortable, good looking shoes. As others have said, order a half size smaller than you usually wear. My other Sperry shoes are 11’s so I thought I’d be fine, but had to exchange them for 10.5’s.

The finish is nice, but it will scuff/change color very easily. Accidentally (lightly) scratched the shoe while removing some packaging and it very clearly left a much lighter mark. Did not buff out. But still like the shoes and they're comfortable

Comfortable shoes. As advised on the site, I ordered these half a size smaller than usual. They are comfortable and fit well after a little break in time.

The shoe runs 1/2 size larger than usual. I had to return the first pair for one that was smaller, and the second pair fits great.

Beautiful shoe. Just a half size larger than the normal gold cup shoe (I've probably purchased 15 pairs of different gold cups.... Only shoe I can find that is both conservative, beautiful, and with a removable foot bed so I can put in an orthotic). Returning, but getting half size smaller.

The materials are very good quality and the color was as photographed. The leather was supple, though the height of the heel cup was inconsistent with my ankle and pressed uncomfortably on my ankle. Ultimately, I returned them because of the height of the heel cup; however, I was pleased with the shoe otherwise. While the shoe was not a good fit for me, it is a very good shoe and I would recommend Sperry Gold products.

I ordered this shoe in a 12 wide and it felt extremely narrow. Good looking shoe that appeared to be well made, but the 12 wide turned out to be 1/2 to a full size larger in length and VERY narrow. I usually wear a 12 medium or 12 wide depending on the manufacturer. Until now, I have never had a wide width shoe feel too narrow.

I’ve tried to wear these with several different no-show sock options and they simply don’t work. I always see a a noticeable part of every sock. Also, the shoes dig into my ankles, which has never been a problem for me. I love the style, but the fit, cut, and comfort leave a lot to be desired

Nope... nope... it is a pretty shoe... and I did not wear them more than 4 times because of the back of both shoes rub against the back of my feet at the Achiles tendon to the point it peels off the skin... I am yet to remember to give them away. I do not recommend them.

I bought a 9 wide and wore them for the first time today. They are stiff and uncomfortable after just a couple of hours on my feet. After about 7 hours I had blisters on both feet. I wear wide shoes and these shoes are not it. If you wear wide shoes skip Sperry.
