Perfect!

These are my first pair of boots in this style in a long time. I am a fan of western boots and the fact that the Frye Boot Company made these is what interested me in the beginning. These boots will last you a life time! They are made with the same durability as a western boot and will require some breaking in so I would suggest a heavier sock in the beginning. They go well with jeans or slacks and are very adaptable to whatever occasion you need them for: Church, work, casual, etc. I bought mine in black and they did not disappoint.

These shoes fit WAY big, it seems one full size large, so I recommended ordering one full size smaller than your normal size. I wear a mens 8 in almost everything, but I tend to scale a half size down for lace up dressy shoes, so I ordered a 7.5 and it was HUGE. I even held this 7.5 Frye chukka next to one of my size 8 loafers and the shoe was visibly way larger than my size 8 loafer. I really need a 7 in this shoe, but they are all out of this color in a 7, so unfortunately I have to just return it. Bummer! Really nice shoe though, love the look.

At first they felt stiff, size was right and I really liked the finish and overall quality, so I decided to give them a shot. The old adage of having to break in a good pair of boots is really true, after a couple of hours of wearing them I knew I made the right decision very happy with my decision and would recommend. Old world quality at a great price.

This pair of boots is gorgeous. I loved the look, feel, and fit of them right out of the box. I've been looking for months for a pair of chukkas that would fit correctly and, finally, I've found them!

First, hats off to Zappos for their excellent service...Again. This is a great looking shoe with a bit thicker sole than on most dress shoes given it a bit more "presence". This shoe looks great with dress pants or jeans.

Beautiful boot, well constructed and excellent leather. Fit was strange - for the size that worked for me (same as my usual size) the toe box was tight, but a lot of heel slip. Half size larger slipped even more, and half size smaller was too short. Hated to do so, but had to return. Excellent service from Zappos, as usual.

Very nice boots. Just felt too narrow across the widest part of my foot.

Fit way too tight. I wear a 9.5 M in every shoe I have ever had but I could not break these in.

Bought these in Black to wear to the office, and they are not appropriate. The card that comes with them describes "bloom," wherein the natural waxes and oils come to the surface to create a white film. This happened immediately upon trying them on, and was very noticeable, even from a distance. The card said this film could be wiped off with a clean dry cloth, but doing so did very little to remove the film. Thus, they were no longer black, and just looked worn and cheap, and not at all appropriate for a business/professional setting. Probably best to buy them for a different purpose.

Comfortable and looks good, but show shipped is a little different style tow and color. The tow more rounded and the color is a lighter tone than in listing photo. Closer to a light brown and the tow isn’t faded dark like the picture. I like the shoe enough to keep it, but will have second thoughts purchasing this brand in the future via Zappos.

I have a really hard time believing these aren't factory seconds. Did not really look like the pictures - toe was not burnished like in pictures and was more rounded. And once shoe was wiped for its first polish, all sort of defects (that I don't consider to be inherent to full grain calf) were seen once the polish rubbed off. Some good polish was able to bring them back to life though so they are certainly wearable. I believe it's full grain calfskin at least, very supple but strong leather with tight grain creasing. Buy a half size down to get a more fitted boot and creasing will be minimized. Comfortable but there are much higher quality boots you can get in the same price range. But Frye claims to be made in america so that might have some value to you outside of the quality of the actual shoe.

Extremely comfortable shoes. I wish they worked, but there is a sole defect. After wearing these for a few months the inner soul detaches from the rest of the sole. The exact same thing happened to the second pair of shoes after I returned the first! Buyer beware!
