Phenomenal boots. I grabbed these when I saw the price - this is a pretty sick deal for Frye boots. They look and feel fantastic. I take a 9.5 or 10 (usually 9.5) depending on the brand. I took the advice on the Frye website which says if you are between sizes order a half size up. I'm glad I did because these are the right size and even needed some breaking in to stretch them. Note: I did the same thing with the Engineer 12R; I ordered a size 10, and it's clear that 9.5 would have been too small.

These boots are such an amazing deal, the quality and fit is so worth the price. I have been looking for this particular style for a while and couldn't find it until I checked Zappos and was shocked how affordable the boots are. I own several pairs of Fryes and these are now my favorite. Great craftsmanship, comfortable, and durable.

They are Frye and they meet that expectation. Beautiful leather and while fit was a little snug they are absolutely breaking in and feel great. Anticipating having these for many years (and replacing a pair of Frye’s that I had for over 30 years).

Theses boots... Man. These boots. Something about Frye boots and the 12R's in particular has been calling me for the longest time. I attached meaningless milestones to things as an excuse. "Oh, I'll get a good pair of Frye's when I lose 10 lbs." Yeah, that didn't happen. But these boots just kept calling to me. Then they went on sale. "What do you need boots for? You don't ride a motorcycle, you're not a cowboy. You're a project manager." "I KNOW THAT SUSAN, BUT THE DOG HAS A FUR COAT AND YOU STILL BOUGHT HIM A SWEATER. I'M GETTING THE [ ] BOOTS." I bought the boots. They're made in the US, they're thick textured leather and I feel like my beard grew an inch and a half the minute I put my feet into them. Wait, when did I get a beard? They're distressed so you'll never need to polish them, and that just screams character. They smell like grit and experience. They're easily the most solid pair of footwear in my suddenly insufferable apartment. I need to be outside right now. I'm gonna rebuild the engine in the Volvo. I'm gonna take a Citibike for a 25 mile ride. Make that 50. I'm gonna make something for dinner instead of ordering a pizza. I'm gonna fire the dog walker and take Archibald out myself. Little tight in the outside of the right toes though.

I ordered a half size smaller than I wear. I would recommend that you do that. I'm glad I did they fit perfectly.
