I love the material that the coat is made out of. It is very soft and easy to wear and feels of high quality. It keeps me warm in the MN winter. I wish it was just a tiny bit longer to cover a little more of my bottom though. I love the sleeves with the thumb holes. Overall great coat and great fit. It will be my regular winter coat from now on.

I wore this jacket during the polar vortex in Minnesota and it kept me warm. It's a very warm jacket. I look forward to wearing it for skiing during the rest of the ski season. I highly recommend this jacket.

I was looking for a very warm insulated jacket and I found it with this one. Great purchase! A little snug but overall super comfortable!

Excellent value, kind of heavy, but great for Cold weather

I ordered an XL. Someone of the reviews say it runs small. I usually get a large. I do have a little more room than I would have in large. Overall it's a very nice jacket.

Beautiful warm jacket. Comfortable and fits well. Arm sleeves are a little long, but not a problem.

It looks as pretty on me as it does on the model. It's lightweight but warm enough for a 30+ degree day with little wind. The fur on the hood is removable although I don't think I will take it off. It'll also work during the summer in the Colorado mountains on a motorcycle.

Loved this jacket. Great weight and warm. Only reason I returned, I found the same coat in a bighter color that I loved. I actual bought this jacket and returned it in a different color. I was not wowed by that colo3, I liked this one better then found one even better. Nothing wrong with the coat at all.

This jacket has been perfect during cold and snowy weather. It is affordable, comfy & warm. Great quality and nice design including a detachable hood & fur accessory transforming it from cute to sporty, with adequate pocket space and a powder guard for added protection in fluffy snow or windy conditions. This jacket has been a perfect compliment to my ski and recreational winter wardrobe.

I purchased this jacket for a trip. The first time i wore it I was at Yellowstone in -20 temps with wind and snow and was warm and dry. I love this jacket

I have 2 of these jackets now so I can have a backup when I wash. It is very warm and very waterproof. I've been in Yosemite down to 21F and I'm fine (with gloves on of course). I just wish the inner pocket is on the outside. It is a perfect place to put a small FRS radio, but not easily accessible inside. Please note it might be a little bit while new, but once you wash it, it will be the perfect size.

I love this jacket! I am always cold. This jacket is so warm even in upper michigan winters. The fleece lined collar, soft pockets, and inner skirt are the little extras that give the jacket the over the top comfort. I purchased in dark coral which is enough to stand out but not scream color. Im.5' 9 200lb and it fits perfect.

Colombia has proved to me that they have wonderful products. This jacket is VERY warm and comfortable. My arms are a little longer than most ladies so, finding tops and jackets that fit is not fun. All my coats, jackets, and fleeces are Columbia products because they fit, and they last a long time. Thank you Columbia.

This coat is so warm! I live in Iowa, where it's been close to -20 lately when factoring in wind chill. I'm always cold by nature, but this jacket keeps me warm, even in these frigid Iowa temperatures. I've had only Columbia coats since 2000 and I think this is the warmest one yet. Let's go through a few things one by one. Down - I've never had a down coat, so I was scared to get one. I'm not sure how it will wash, but so far, it's been the warmest coat! Fur trim on the hood - I'm not a fur trim person, but I just removed it and all is fine. Hood - The other coats I tried on (some were even Columbia coats) had terrible hoods (they were too big and hung down over my eyes - what good is that? Some even had the adjustable hood, but that still didn't work). I was able to adjust this hood tight enough so it does not block my vision. Neck area - I love this part. It is so warm and the fuzziness is so soft. Weight - It feels a little heavier than my other Columbia coat. Hand pockets - I love the large pockets in the Columbia coats! I stuff my gloves in one and my hat in the other. Keep making those pockets big! Comfort cuff with thumb hole - I've never had anything like this in any clothing before. I thought I could put my hands in there and wear my gloves at the same time, but it cut into my hand (then customer service told me it's not designed to be worn that way). Color - I'm not someone who wears bright colors, but I saw the neon sunrise jacket in a store, tried it on, and loved the color and the fit so I ordered it online. The color is bold for me, but I live in a town where so many people are dressed in all black and you can't see them at all when you're driving in the dark. I wanted to be seen (and not hit by a car!), so I decided to go with the bright (and noticeable) color. I do not ski, so I can't comment about any of those features of the jacket. Overall - a wonderfully warm coat!

I tried many jackets and this one hits almost all the marks. Removable hood and/or fur, side vents, draft flap, thumb hole on sleeves, plenty of pockets. Omni Heat works great and allows for fewer layers even during 'teen-temp' ski days. The only thing I would have liked to have is a separate vest liner. The Whirlibird has that feature but the jacket is a bit boxy, unlike the Lay D Down which is more form fitting. The removable layer on Whirlibird provides for an outer shell for spring skiing but the hood is not detachable. Kind of giving two reviews here huh? Lay D Down is a great jacket for most of my ski days. I'll try a lighter base layer and opening the vents for the warmer days. The jacket I am replacing is a Columbia Bugaboo fleece interchange that I've had for many years. Love Columbia brand!

Very warm and great jacket. Runs small so size up.

This jacket fits as expected. It is an "active fit", so trying to wear a mid-layer underneath might make a tight squeeze. However, a base-layer or thin sweater fits just fine. Really love the color and style!

We love this coat and will continue to buy them when we need them. This one went to my youngest daughter. The style and shape makes this coat a staple in your wardrobe.
