Wore it for the first time yesterday. Temp 25; strong, cold NW wind. Nearly froze in this jacket as the cold wind went right through it. Not worth the price. Returning it.

Adore this warm and waterproof coat, so much that I even bought it a size up to wear through my last pregnancy (which now serves as a guest coast for visitors to our home in the PNW). It's flattering, incredibly well made and kept my body the perfect temperature. I also appreciate the two way zipper so I can open the bottom up when riding my cargo bike in cold weather with the family!

So warm and cute

I am happy with this purchase. Great quality and fit. I'm excited to test it out in the sub zero climate this winter. This is my first white coat and it's a beautiful color. However, I'm a bit nervous about getting it dirty.

I live in Northern Michigan, on the shores of Lake Huron. The winters can be brutal and the wind coming off the lake can be fierce. I needed a long, warm parka for walking on the beach and thru the woods. Other comments have suggested that it's not great at keeping you warm if you are sitting still. But I have found it's all about the layers. I'm normally a Large, but bought the XL for room. If I'm going to be active, I'm fine with a fleece layer. If I'm planning on sitting on my deck and watching the ice on the lake, I bundle up under my jacket and have been warm in 25 degree weather with a North wind off the lake at about 30 mph. There is no bad weather, only bad gear.

I just purchased this coat and have not actually worn it yet, so I can't speak about its level of warmth. However, I am disappointed, because the description says, "fully adjustable hood." The hood does not adjust at all, and it is a little bit loose, so I think the wind will get in. The only thing that you can change is to remove the faux fur. I am also disappointed because the description says, " internal elasticized cuffs with thumb holes." There is barely any elastic, and the cuff is loose fitting, so again I think this will be an issue when it is windy. I hope that The North Face will revise the wording in the description of this parka.

I've been watching this parka and grabbed it on Black Friday sale. I was worried about recent complaints about the velcro in place of snaps and elastic back instead of adjustable waist. I was thrilled to see my black parka has a snap closure amd adjustable waist. The zipper is still plastic but I'm so happy with this purchase.

I am a young senior living in NYC. I expected this coat to be Tshirt wearing warm butI need a turtleneck and extra sweater in 30 degree weather. Big fail

The coat is cute, stylish and very warm. It's a classic coat and it can be worn casual or you can dress it up. I remember this coat from my childhood. I ordered a women's medium in TNF Black and it fits great. I have enough room for a fleece hoodie, a thick scarf, or even a packable jacket under it (For reference, I am a size 4-6, I am 5'2 and 125LB with athletic shape). The women's medium size of this coat is more puffy and is shorter in length and If you were to order the men's medium size it is less puffy, more boxy and a bit longer, both have similar specs. I hope this is helpful. The shipping was pretty horrible. I ordered my coat on a Sunday and my coat never shipped out. I called customer service and after 10 mins on hold, I was given a new order number and my coat was overnighted to me for free (which was great). I received it by the following Saturday. I also didn't like that the coat was shipped in a matte plastic shipping bag with North Face branding all over it. It's marketing - I get it. But now everyone and their mother knows a coat is in the mail for you. (I don't think this is very smart of the company if you spend $300+ on a coat and its not in a secure box - keep this in mind during the holiday shopping season.) If you are shipping this - I would recommend to spend a little extra and overnight this. Next time, I'll do that.

Listed as warmest waterproof parka. Love it, but sleeves are 5" too long for functional photography in Antartica. Would be perfect if could adjust them like the waist cords - Put same type in Sleeve seams???

Great winter coat!

I just got this coat today and I love it! There was a review about Velcro, but mine has snaps, which I prefer. This will definitely keep me warm, I just need it to get cold where I live so I can wear it!

This jacket is very warm. The hood is a bit strange how it is so thin but I barely use it anyways so I think it was a great investment.
