I first wore Doc Martens 30 years ago, got away from them for awhile, had a family, developed plantar fasciitis and wondered if I could go back to them, remembering the break-in. I held my breath and ordered these boots - love the higher heel and thick sole - and am so happy! They are heavy, and yet so well constructed that I do not have foot fatigue wearing them. The soles are springy. The leather is strong and rich. My 50 year old self loves them just as much as when in my 20's!

Like all of the Doc Martins I’ve ever worn, they really don’t have arch support, but are wonderful once I’ve added inserts. This style is different than my other Docs (the 1460 Vonda and the Pascal Darcy 8-eye boot) — the toe box is a bit narrower, and they have the wonderful little bit of platform and heel to them. None of this compromises their comfort, as I was afraid it might; it just expands the range of clothing styles that look great with Docs. Also, the seam between the toe box and the boot tongue doesn’t cut into my instep the way that the other two styles (above) did at first. These will be a much easier boot to break in than the first two. Thanks, Zappos & Doc Martins!

Love the boots! The 7 fits like a 7 1/2 and feels great. Even though it looks high and chunky, the sole height is very comfortable all day. Very happy so far!

Between sizes and could not keep. Either had to have my toes smashed or look like my shoes were two sizes too big. Super cute though. Just not willing to have improper fit.

When I first opened the box and saw the Shriver boots I was shocked at how huge they looked. But I got over it. I have 5 pairs of docs, all size 8, and the Shrivers are same size, except platforms. I love them. They are very comfortable. I wore them all day straight out of the box. I have narrow feet and use orthotics in all my shoes. I also wear thick socks. Other customers mentioned the weight of these boots but that doesn't bother me because they are so comfy and my back doesn't hurt when I wear them. Plus, I love feeling tall and the Shrivers are a little more dressy than the usual docs. Highly recommend.

I love these shoes! I'm still in the break in phase, but so far, I love these boots! They're super cute, I usually order a 7.5/8 in boots and I bought the Women's size 7 and they fit great.

Pros: leather feels buttery soft and silky smooth. Quality is excellent. Heavy duty, durable & Built to last. Stylish. Can dress up or down. No arch support. Cons: VERY HEAVY rubber soles. No half sizes. (I recommend going down a half size if you normally wear half sizes). The toe box with these style of Docs aren’t as roomy and tend to be a bit narrow compared to other styles of Docs. So if you have wide feet, I recommend going up a half size if you normally wear half sizes and u have wide feet. The outside leather does Scratch very easily. The thick soles make it too difficult for the boot to bend with the foot whilst walking. No arch support.

I love these shoes so much. They’re chunky (as expected) but easy to walk in and pretty comfy. First time wearing I did get some blisters on the back of my ankle, but probably could’ve had better socks on and already expected that since they’ll need breaking in. Good staple of any closet. Sizing: I wear between a size 6.5 to 7 (always a 6.5 in Steve Madden, 7 in most other shoes in case that randomly helps someone) but I sized down to a 6. I think a 7 would’ve been enormous so glad I sized down!

These are incredible boots! I ordered some less expensive ones first from a different brand, but they just weren’t comfortable. These are SUCH well made boots. After reading all the reviews, I worried that they would be too big or too heavy, but I haven’t found that to be the case at all, and I’m super petite. I normally wear a 6-6.5 and I ordered a 6 in these. Fits just right (room for thick socks but also fine with thinner socks). Ugh, these are dreamy!

I bought these for general everyday wear, and festival wear! I LOVE them! They are very comfortable. They are slightly heavy but that is expected since they are platforms. They are slightly big but i wouldn’t size down a whole size, and there are no half sizes, so I’m happy with the fit (: Love the quality and I could expect these to last literally 10-20 years. they’re impeccably constructed. Totally recommend

The number of reviews I had read about the difficulty of breaking in Dr. Martens shoes proved in my case to have been an exaggeration. When they came into my house I immediately put them on, and set a timer for one hour, so that I could do the breaking in slowly over time. But my timer went off and my feet were still pain free. I was wearing socks, not especially thin or thick, and I did think that had I not been wearing leggings the top of the shaft might have bothered my calf, but with leggings it was just fine. I love these boots. They are edgy. They make me feel confident. So glad I got them, and I wear them constantly.

These boots are very heavy, be prepared for a moderate workout. Runs large and how bad this large is one can feel only walking in these boots - they are sliding from your feet painfully during each step... However, the same size in different models, such as Dr Martens Pascal boots for example, was perfect. Here we have a weird inconsistency in sizes.

Love these! Did not need any break in time. Super comfy and was able to be in them al day without any pain.

These boots are amazing!!! I get compliments every times I wear them! The first few wears do make your feet tired and I do not think the platform is too heavy, for me anyways. For sizing, I wear a size 8-8.5 and first ordered a size 39 UK 6 (women's 8) but they were way too big. Zappos made it super easy to exchange for a size 38 UK 5 (women's 7) and they were a much better fit! I even find that they still have room. I even have been able to wear two pairs of socks to help break them in, without feeling like the boot is too tight.

LOVE THEM!! I was worried because I had read that they ran narrow and I have wide feet but they fit great. I get compliments whenever I wear them. They are very comfy after you get used to the extra weight.

I really love these for snow and slush. The tread is nice and deep. I feel sure footed, which is super important in the Winter. My only complaint is they are very heavy. I’m willing to manage since it’s more important for me to be stable, but if you don’t like heavy shoes, please consider.

Cute and comfortable, what you’d expect from docs but unless you’re planning on wearing wool socks size down a full size, they’re huge. I wear an 8 and they were like clown shoes but the 7 fits perfect.

I listened to other reviews and ordered down. I am a true size 8 and ordered a 7 and they fit perfect, and I mean perfect.

I got the burgundy in size 5(US). i am a true size 6 and the 5 fits perfectly—just slightly snug even when i wear regular/thinner socks. leather is stiff and needs some breaking in. these boots are beautifully made but i decided to return it as i prefer the other style—Leona.

Simply the best! Sooo comfortable!

Quality leather. Height of shaft is perfect. Heel is perfect height to add to my short stature without looking ridiculous due to my age.

I have been eyeing a good combat boot for awhile. I have bought many other non Doc combat boots over the years and was always disappointed in the comfort and look. I finally broke down and bought these for myself for my birthday. LOVE THEM! I wear a size 10, ordered the size 10 womens/ 8 mens. They fit great! I’m Tall but the heel and platform isn’t crazy high. They are comfortable and good looking. I took these on a trip over the weekend. I wore them to a few events . My feet didn’t hurt at all even though first time wearing them. They are heavy but not too bad. They are super cute, they go with everything. Jeans, pants, skirts, I wish I had bought these years ago! Don’t go for a cheaper brand as o did for years. Buy the real thing and be done with it.

I bought these, Audrick and Leona. Leona were incredibly stiff. Not looking to break in shoes at my ripe age of 53. The Audrick weren't bad but I felt I'd get a heel rub. The Shiver were a clear winner. Comfortable right out of the box.

I thought I had a winner but after walking around in them for 5 minutes I realized they are a little too narrow for me. My feet are on the wider side of normal so this happens alot... but Docs always seemed wide so I had high hopes for these! Heel height is great and they are heavy but I would have kept them if they weren't so snug.
