I'm normally a 6.5 in most shoes, but sometimes would need to size up to a 7 depending on the specific shoe. The Ainsley is one where I decided to size up to a 7 based on other reviews. They still felt snug the first time I put them on (with thick socks), and I feared that I should have gone up a full size, it was more narrow than I expected for a hiking boot. But after 3 days of wearing the boot, it broke in perfectly. I wore these for 3+ hrs trekking around a park, the had the perfect support and warmth for a winter's day. I didn't have any sore spots afterwards. The only thing that would have made these boots 5 stars for me is if the top was a little bit higher above my ankle.

I wanted to love these so much! Unfortunately, they did not work for me. They felt true to size. I'm a 6.5 and ordered a 7 to accomodate heavy Smartwool socks. I have narrow, thin feet and they felt neither loose nor tight. The insole is wonderfully cushioned and bouncy with every step. The outer sole feels nice and grippy. The look is adorable and sporty without being bulky. The problem I found was the tongue and its defective design. The sides of the tongue that are sewn to the body of the shoe cause excess material to bunch up when you tie up the laces, therefore putting uncomfortable pressure on the tops of your feet, to the point of bruising right through your socks. I walked up and down my hallway and could NOT stand the feeling of the rough, bunched-up tongue material rubbing on the tops of my feet. These would be absolutely impossible to wear for longer than 10 minutes, much less hiking or city walking. Sadly, I must return them.

Very cute boot but very small, very narrow and too much fabric in tongue area that would cause rub marks. They also felt off-center...not sure how else to describe it. When I step in them I feel like my foot is falling inward and not settling straight onto the sole. Maybe there is a better, technical term for that but I don't know what it is.

I wanted to love them but so narrow in the toe area. And I don’t usually have that problem. Read reviews but just wanted to try. Had ordered a half size up so length was good. But width was off. Probably good if you have a more narrow foot. Still order half size up for length.

Cute, but they KILLED my bunions.

As most people already mentioned below, it runs small. One full size small. And the reason is not the length, is the fact that it is extremely narrow on the toe box, plus the lace hooks/attachments press down on your feet, especially when you walk. I think I could still go 2 sizes up and this issue wouldn't be solved. I wish so much that this was comfortable. The heel part feels great, it's just the front of the boot. Unless you have very narrow feet I wouldn't recommend it.

Super cute (black/red/silver hardware) and the sole was rugged enough for every day Boston wear, but the toe bed is extremely narrow. I have narrow feet and am a true 7.5; I ordered an 8 and they were too small and too narrow for even my feet. Order at least 1/2 size up - more like a full size up if you don't have narrow feet or if you plan to wear wool socks.

Cute boots but fit is off. Me and my daughter are usually 8, but ordered 8.5 based on reading reviews. Still doesn't fit right. Gotta return.

SO wanted to love these, but I agree with another reviewer in that these are just too narrow. The toe box is too tight. Sizing up doesn’t help because then your foot slips out of the heel. It’s too bad Sorel can’t seem to get it together or be consistent with their sizing this year because otherwise, this boot would have been a winner. Style-wise, it’s a home run. Fit-wise, awful.

Good looking shoe but wayyy to narrow had to return. Do not fit my feet. And I have narrow feet

Great looking, terrible fit. I literally could not get my foot into it. The padding, arch and sotfness of the suede all made for less foot room. Poorly designed.
