You guys, these are the cutest kids shoes! The laces are especially easy to tie and helped my second grader FINALLY learn to tie his shoes. I loved the style and the fit was great HOWEVER...... they were not a practical every day shoe for my 8 year old son. While its super cute and stylish to have the sweater like material on the front end, it is not so durable. My guy is pretty hard on his shoes, but I was not expecting to have to replace them after only ONE MONTH at school.

Very light and my son loves this. It seems like it's easy to clean and the color does not show dirt as much. Seems like the toe part is not too narrow and natural design to fit nicely.

My son has a wide foot and it's so hard to find him shoes that don't look like regular athletic sneakers. These are sneakers but the black color and style enable them to pass off as dressier shoes. He is very comfortable in them so we give them a double thumbs up.

These shoes are so great. My 5 year old loves them and they're different in a great way. They just look like a more updated/edgier athletic shoe for a little boy. I highly recommend.

I bought these for my son. He was so excited to get a pair of "tying" shoes. They look great, and he finds them comfortable.

My son loves these shoes, and I would just like to say that Zappos customer service is amazing! Originally, we received these shoes and my son just put them on. He said he liked them and I threw away the box. After wearing them a few times, he started complaining they hurt. I said that was impossible as we just had him measured but they did feel very tight. Turns out the box was mislabeled and the shoes were actually one size too small. I explained what happened and Zappos immediately sent out a new pair, and said I could donate the other shoes as they didn’t need them back since he wore them already. I was happy to not have to go through the trouble of sending them back, and the new shoes came within a couple days. The shoes themselves are adorable on, and we couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I will definitely continue to order from Zappos after my experience with their wonderful customer service.

My 6 year old son loves these shoes. He has very wide feet and these are perfect. Very comfortable and stylish shoe. He’s only had them for two weeks so we’ll see how they hold up over time. Overall, a great purchase!

Super cute and light weight. My son is pretty hard on his shoes and New Balance has always been our go-to show.

I loved the look and feel of this shoe and my 8 year old son immediately liked them as well. However, I agree with another reviewer that unfortunately these just don't hold up well for an active elementary school-age boy. While the mesh material is stylish, comfortable, and flexible, the every day wear ripped holes into the front of my son's shoes after about a month and a half. Perhaps if your child isn't wearing them every day and running around in them, these might be a pair you'd like to give a try. The other comment I wanted to make was that my son's feet seem to sweat quite a bit and these shoes never made his feet OR the shoe super smelly. The other style of New Balance shoes he has seem to make his foot odor worse (and I have to air out his shoes every time he wears them!). Maybe the overall material and style of this shoe allowed his feet to 'breathe' better or something! Anyway, a really nice shoe overall, but durability might be an issue.

My son loved the style but complained that he couldn't wiggle his toes. The width was still too narrow.

Fit is great, but the durability of this shoe is AWFUL. The laces broke within the first week of wearing them and already they are wearing holes in the top and he has only been wearing them for 1.5 months. I would not recommend for an active kid. They look great, but will not last!
