Boot was a little snug wearing thin socks. Left boot was not made correctly it twisted out so lacing did not go straight up and down. Will look for a different boot in same color and maybe brand.

I have several pairs of sorel boots and was so excited to get these for Christmas. I think I will exchange these for a half size up and buy longer laces because while they fit around my big calves they don’t look quite right. Leather quality and style are on point as usual!

I liked the boots. I wish they had been two inches taller as I felt the height was not all that flattering. In the end it was enough to make me return them. For the price they need to be perfect.

Like some other reviewers, I wanted to love these boots so badly, but had to return. I have the ankle version and they are the most comfortable shoes I own - they feel like walking on clouds and were absolutely amazing for my trip to Southern Spain and Morocco during the rainy (and somewhat cold) season, as well as skiing trips. I get comments on them all the time. But the height on these "tall" boots is awful and what did them in for me. I am only 5'4 and the shaft length is very short (not knee length, not ankle length, but an awkward in-between height that cuts off even short legs like mine. The short shaft length, combined with a narrow, unforgiving shaft circumference made it easy to send them back, despite how much I really, really wanted to like them.

I love Sorel Joan of Arctic boots I have 6 pairs of the shorter shaft and they are extremely uncomfortable; these boots however are the most uncomfortable boot I have tried to wear. The toe feels like steel cardboard and the shaft around the ankle is saggy and unflattering. I tried three different sizes hoping one of them would work but the problem must be a design flaw .

I have the previous version in distressed brown and love them. While these are extremely comfortable they have not worn well. I purchased the black and they looked very worn and scuffed after a few months. Constantly have to clean and polish them. And the black shows dirt very easily. Very disappointed in how they’ve held up.

Beautiful boot, so cool! But way small and footliner moves into a heap at the toe every time you try to slide your foot in.
If another bigger size were offered (13) I’d try again and just glue down the liner or something to make it work, absolutely love the look of them, sad I’ll be sending them back as they are unwearably small.

I was really excited to receive these boots. The boots look great. However first thing noticed is the boot comes out of the box laced as tight as possible and barely tie at the top. Obviously the laces are too short for the boot! I ordered a size up and the boot fit was still really snug. Disappointing for the price. I will be returning

The suede on back of boots turned the color of blue. After wearing boots for over 6 hrs feet started to hurt, not real comfortable for all day wear.
Sorry to say had to return them. But got lots of good complements on them for the style.

I'm sorry, Sorel! I normally love about every boot you make. I have a closet full of Joan ankle boots which I adore. I ordered these the moment I saw them because they are SO gorgeous in the photos...gorgeous when they arrived....but a hot mess when I tried them on. The least of the problems is the short shaft height. I'm only 5'4" and these boots are at least 2"-3" too short from looking good. It's a very awkward and unattractive height, IMO. The more concerning issue is that the boots gap horribly at the tongue in front at the ankle. It's funny that photos NEVER show the model just standing straight....because if they did you would see big unattractive gaps at the bend of the ankle in front. Eww! I even had my best friend try these on....and she had the same experience with the gap and shaft height. Oh well, so pretty to look at but too ugly to wear. I still love Sorel, but I will stick to my other 5-6 pair of Joan ankle boots.
