The leather is very stiff. I would like to get a pair of hand me downs so that the leather is soft and broken in. I had to return these.

How cool is it to wear shoes from Jerusalem! I wanted a comfortable, stylish replacement for my Tory Burch big medallion sandals worn by everyone and their dog. These fit the bill. Real leather touches my entire foot with more than 1/2 inch of padding in between the leather lining and the rubber sole. These sandals will break in to conform to my foot for added comfort- both at the sole and to accommodate the height of my foot. The Tory's were always loose and floppy. These fit true to size, width (medium), and have more padding than traditional flats. They are dressier than my fit flops, not as cushy, but look both casual and dressy for short trip one pair of shoes packing. I will update my review after taking them on my vacation to Greece.

All it took was one lap around my living room to realize I would end up with a serious blister along my big toe where the toe loop is. Oddly the toe loop angles back with a slant (as you can tell from the previous reviewers photo) and totally cuts into my foot. While they may stretch and become more supple with time, I'm not willing to endure blisters, scabs or wearing blister pads waiting for the break in. The quality of the shoe in general seemed good, but the leather is very thick and tough and would likely require a lengthy break in period. If the toe loop wasn't angled backwards I think they would have been better. For reference I have a narrow to average foot width. Not even sure how the previous reviewer could tolerate the shoe because from the pics it looks like it cuts into her foot as well. I have a feeling she'll be buying blister pads or a cheap pair of flip flops in Greece.

I wear a 7 to a 7-1/2 in most closed shoes, and often a wide (C or W) versus a medium width. I found the leather to be incredibly stiff and unforgiving … I don’t know if these are supposed to soaked (as the old JC’s of the 1960s needed), but there are no instructions provided as to how to soften the leather. They also run a bit bigger (the toe thong especially) and a bit wider than expected. Returned them immediately.

I really wanted these to work, because I have been looking for this style. The toe ring cuts into my big toe at a very bad angle. I can't handle sandles that are going to take months to break in--not interested in blisters and rubbing my skin raw while I'm breaking a shoe or sandal in, no matter the styling. The sizing is on the mark, but, the leather is very stiff over the toe. I realize they need to be broken in, but, I would have to give them to someone who wore my size to break them in, because I couldn't withstand the pain. Too bad, because I like where they are made and love the styling , but, my feet will make me miserable.
