I travel a lot, to places that are very hard on luggage. This bag has been though it all with flying colors. The quality of the bag is excellent, very sturdy, and I have used it every which way. The design anticipates every need, including a perfectly placed pocket for a battery bank that lets me charge my phone while waiting or in transit. I like the lockpoint design and the high-quality waterproof materials. I've recommended this to several friends.

As a long time and very happy Morphus user, I have been offered the opportunity to get the news Morphus International version and give it a test drive. Being a frequent traveler, it's a real world, real conditions review. First, the main difference between the original model and the Morphus International lies in the more sophisticated outside of the case. It's more classy than the original design, with a nice fabric. You would have no troubles carrying this baggage in a lavish hotel lobby. Second, the more business-oriented baggage gave up some few details in favor of a more urban look, like the extra lateral straps locking the covers to the main body but it's not an issue. Otherwise, you will find all the usual well thought and welcome details: plenty of handles (if only others had that) allowing you to put and pull your baggage from an overhead bin or car trunk, no matter its orientation. And the two-bags-in-one concept is still there, allowing your to detach the top case and transform it into a convenient backpack with large shoulder handles, compartments for tablets and laptops. I would say that this backpack is a bit nicer than the original one and feels more comfortable on your back on long hikes and the inside pockets have nicely been reorganized It is of course compatible with the ingenious pack-it organizers cases for your clothes. At first, like someone in the "Made me sad" review here, I wonder why the bottom case was almost full, but then I opened it and detached the two straps and freed space Overall, this remains an amazing baggage that, in my opinion, outperforms everything the competition has to offer. It's worth every penny you spend on it (its price is even 25% cheaper than the original Morphus), especially when you know that EagleCreek has a no question lifetime warranty. If they can afford such generosity, it's because they trust their quality and very well know that it's extremely unlikely to have returns and defects. Highly recommended.

I am a regular traveller both long haul & short haul. As a carry on the bag is fine, and I like the fact it splits into two. I would say the main bag (after zipping off the front section) is better space-wise out of the two, and I often just use this. The front bag is a bit limited with the opening, and when you split it from the other the storage is big, but would prefer it to be expandable by a zip opposed to have the full storage amount available. I used the Morphus International Carry-On on a 2-week trip to Japan. I was able to pack inside the main wheeled bag and still managed to attach the detachable gear hauler (backpack). Inside the main wheeled bag, I put 2 Eagle Creek medium cubes, 1 small slim cube, and 1 half slim cube. Then I attached the backpack and inside the backpack, I was able to put 1 x-small cube and 1 pack-it specter tech quicktrip. Then I put my Macbook Air and 1 external hard drive inside the gear hauler. It did not tip over either. This was my first go at minimalist packing and I'm pretty sure other people can get more creative with this carry-on. In my case, I wanted to bring one bag and when I got to Japan, I removed the backpack and used it while I was sightseeing and to put souvenirs in. On my way home, I separated the two. I put all of my souvenirs inside the main wheeled bag and put everything else inside the backpack. This carry-on worked very well for me. The only downside was that it was not a 360-spinner luggage and I love my spinner luggage. But that's ok. My boyfriend has the same carry-on and he checked in the main wheeled bag and it was in great condition when we got it from the carousel. Overall, we are happy with this purchase.

I loved the idea of this bag, as we are traveling to Europe and just wanted to use one bag; but wanted potential extra packing space in case I found some nice souvenirs, etc. I though this bag would fit the bill, and it would have except for one thing. The bag already feels half full before I even started packing. The backpack straps are not removable. They are very padded for comfort but they are also very bulky. They are also not removable so they take up extra space. The second problem is that the bottom inside of the bag feels full to because of all the bunched up material from the "second bag". This problem could have been easily solved if they had used an expansion panel. This bag would have been the perfect travel bag, but I could not get my weeks worth of clothing etc into the bag. Interestingly, all my stuff WOULD fit in my husband's Switchback carry-on. I sent the Morphus back to EC at my expense of $68.00! I found I could get the same bag from eBags for 86 dollars less and with FREE shipping. I still want to get another EC bag, as they are VERY well made. My husband has had his for several years and it still looks new. I'm really disappointed with the Morphus, because it would have been the PERFECT international carry-on, if only they had put an expansion panel.

I purchased this bag a few months ago in preparation for a trip to France and only 6 days into the trip hinge mechanism at the base breaks. After spending this much on a bag I really didn't think I would need to send it in for repair after using it for the first time.

I've had this product for over a year which was a guarantee replacement of my previous Eagle Creek carry on. The queslity is good, the 2 in 1 idea is novel but not very practical. The biggest is is the desing of the front feet. Even when only using hte single trolley piece with wheels the front feet are not fixed and only held by flimsy straps and hence give way and often tip over. Add the second bag or a laptop bag on top and it will always fall over forwards so I end up having to lean it against anything solid when not pulling it around. Which makes it extremely frustrating when travelling on business and going through airports. I'm now looking at a 4 wheel alternative where the bag remains standing regardless of how loaded it may be.

I loved the prior generation and bought one of these planning to love it too, but when the rivet on the foot hinge popped off in the middle of a trip my love affair was done. The problem is the foot hinge abuts the handle one one side, and when the bag is full the handle acts as a wedge and pops the rivet off. I returned the bag and would not buy again.

If you use the bag as described, in roller mode it will not stand vertically, it falls over toward the extra pack. No way to stop the wheels so you are fighting it at the airport as you wait to plane. Bought it yesterday and now on my way to Europe or I would have tried another bag. Infuriating.
