I have had the Tarmac AWD international carry on for the past three years and used it a ton without problem, but found myself wishing it were a bit larger, so I purchased the next size up (this). Just came in the mail and though I haven't been on a trip with it yet (thanks COVID) it seems the perfect size for a week long trip carrying a little extra gear than our normal (like snorkeling fins/masks). My only negative would be to start making it again in more colors than just black! I have a blue carry on size and would have liked to keep them the same color. Compartments are pretty similar to the carry on size minus the padded laptop pouch in the divider on the inside. #sweepstakes

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This is my second piece of Eagle Creek Luggage and I could not be happier. I purchased this for a transpacific flight. It has been on several planes, on shuttles, and through the subway and has survived unscathed. It has the best wheels of all my suitcases, including pieces that are more expensive. It glides through any type of flooring even when packed to capacity, and it does not lean or try to tip over. While I generally prefer luggage that is a single compartment, I really appreciate all the organizational features this bag offers. I am considering purchasing a couple more.

The Tarmac AWD was a Fathers Day gift, and it arrived just in time. It's the perfect size, and I love the understated grey color, spinner wheels, and sturdy zippers. Plus, Eagle Creek has the absolute best warranty and styling. #sweepstakes

I purchased this bag to replace one that you had wheel issues with. This bag is perfect. The AWD is smooth and rotation is easy. The zippers are sturdy and functional. My favorite feature with Eagle Creek bags is the many zipper pockets; they make last minute packing a breeze. It's also perfect for slipping a jacket into a pocket on the outside of the bag enabling easy access when the weather changes.

I just got home from my first trip with this bag. 9 days clothing, snorkeling gear and room to spare. It was perfect! Best of all after three international flights it still looks brand new! The wheels on this bag are amazing on every surface from parking lots to boardwalks. I would definitely recommend this bag. On my travels two bellmen and one taxi driver commented on what a great look the bag had.
I am very happy with my purchase

The 26 is not too big and not too small. Great fro extended trips with no laundromat in sight.

I got this bag because I was going to be traveling for about 4 months out of 2016.
I have not treated it gently and have had it to 3 different continents. In Africa alone it made 16 flight and 5000 miles by car, bus and train. I then took it to 15 national parks across the U.S. Finally on a trip back from Jamaica a wheel came off. I strapped it to my back and finished the trip. I called customer service and they have sent a replacement wheel. They also gave me a discount code for 30% off because I wanted to buy it little brother so that I could have a carry on. IN addition the fact that it can be made into 2 bags saves you a fortune when you encounter strange weight limits during international travel.

After looking at the Eagle Creek bags my daughter purchased before leaving for the Peace Corps, I decided to order my own version for a trip to Morocco. The Morphus 30 was the PERFECT choice. Packing cube system was a great way to pull out only what I needed. Multiple handles made it easy to haul on and off trains and up the multiple steps in every Riad we stayed. Perfect rugged wheels (thank god I didn't get spinners!) enabled me to maneuver rough cobblestone and multiple steps. Backpack then available for camel journey into desert while leaving large housing behind. And of course, it 'morphed' into an additional bag for souvenir purchases. The daisy chains on the outer bag were a great place to wind colorful ribbon for easy identification (I have a black bag). It still looks like new after being thrown around connections through multiple airports. This bag performed beautifully.

Just got this from American Airlines As a replacement for another bag that was destroyed. I am really stunned. I work and fly to ships all over the world. I needed this. Perfect. No samsonite can even compare.

This bag traveled nearly 20,000 miles via plane, bus, land rover, and on my back through Burundi and Kenya....with almost no ware and tear! #Tough!

I bought a pair of Tarmac AWD 26 suitcases for a 2-month trip traveling about the United Kingdom. One month into our trip, the suitcases had done well - capable of holding a 2+_week supply of clothes; easily rolled through the airport; surviving the transatlantic flight baggage handlers without a scratch; adequately transported to our hotel via bus and rough sidewalk; and packed into and out of the hold space of a small economy car. I have only a few minor quibbles/suggested modifications so far: (1) the telescoping rolling handle kept slipping out of its locked position when any but the least pressure or sideways torque was placed on it; (2) the two channels along the hard casing holding the pull-out handle significantly intruded into the suitcase's interior space, reducing packing space and making it difficult to packs things evenly; (3) it would nice to have some way of temporarily "braking" the suitcase (it was real trial trying to keep three 4-wheel suitcases corralled whilst on a moving bus or on sloped pavement); and (4) the handles should be designed to collapse to a lower profile (the 2-inch handle profile was just enough to keep the suitcase from cleanly fitting under the car's tonneau cover). I would have preferred a larger suitcase for such a lengthy trip, and would thus have bought the Tarmac AWD 30 suitcase except that its dimensions just exceeded airline limits for checked baggage without incurring substantial "oversized baggage" charges.

I can't give this bag anything other than a 3-star review. I really like Eagle Creek products and customer service is excellent. Sadly though, this bag does not hold up the standards of the company. I am very disappointed with the luggage. The wheelbase (especially on the carry, on-we purchased both) encroaches too much into the bag and also the expansion zippers do not expand the bags fully. This bag has a lot of great features but loses a lot of packing room due to the wheelbase and 3/4 expansion zipper. I will be returning and looking elsewhere.

It is good that this bag is easy to carry as the wheels have been broken off 4 times now while being handled by airlines. The design of the wheel and axle arrangement is totally under par compared with the rest of the bag which is high quality.
