We went to Europe for a month "backpacking" old people style, with a rolling bag and carryon. We stayed at Airbnb's that had washing machines. Our friends met us in Greece and had these huge backpacks that they could hardly carry. We just rolled along! We strapped our carryons over the expanding handle and away we would go. We rolled these tumbuk2 rolling bags over cobblestones and onto metro rails. They rolled over dirt paths and down airplane isles. I can't wait to see where we will roll next! Favorite things...the side access and super smooth wheels. No spinning around here, just glide along.

My wife is a Flight Attendant (FA), an occupation that is brutal on luggage. She loves her Copilot for its soft sides, large smooth running wheels, lots of handles to grab on to, and large EZ to pack zippered compartments. She would break 2 or 3 carry on's a year before I bought her a Copilot Luggage Roller. Due to the fact that Timbuk2 sells user-installed replacement parts for it (specifically the Roller Extending Handle & the smooth rolling skate wheels) it lasted her almost 4 years! After it's FA stint I gave the bag to my granddaughter who is still using it. This new one is the replacement for my wife's 2nd Copilot which, I'm happy to announce will be MY new roller!

I fly on about 75 flights per year and have been using a Timbuk2 carry on roller bag for three years. It has been durable and reliable as well as easy to pack. And when I did have an issue with the handle, Timbuk2 sent me a new one which was easy to replace. Hence I purchased the next size bigger for my longer trips. When the airlines damaged this new bag but driving over it on the runway and the gave my $300.00 to buy any bag I wanted and I bought the same Timbuk2 bag.

I absolutely love this suitcase. I've had it for 3 years and have used it for trips of up to 5 weeks at a time, and it is still in perfect shape. The mesh liners on each side keep everything organized, and the little pockets are perfect for small items. After trips with my husband and mom, they also bought one and love theirs. I have had no problem using the small size as a carryon on planes, even Ryanair. Highly recommend.

I travel for work about 2-3 times a month, mostly domestic US. I bought this bag after tons of research and trying out multiple different bags. Did trial pack outs and shipped about 7 bags from all the popular brands right back. I finally decided I wanted a softside with a front pocket for my laptop that didn't eat up interior space or have wasted space. My 14" Lenovo fits perfectly and snugly. When the pocket is not used, you don't sacrifice space either. It's a great design. This bag is incredibly well-made, which isn't surprising bc Timbuk2 stuff I've purchased before lasts forever. This suitcase will too. It holds way more than I expected for its size, and honestly, seems to hold more than my hard side which measures larger. The zippers are sturdy and smooth. Everything about this bag feels sturdy and tough. It's sleek and glides beautifully. I love that the interior lining is not loose fabricmore like velvety flocked lining that is adhered to the back of the suitcase. Zippered closure on BOTH sides of the clamshell opening keeps stuff from falling outthose dumb cross-cross straps never do anything. And the quick zip on the front makes it super easy to get to stuff inside the suitcase (like my coat and umbrella). It does all of this and weighs under 8lbs. No small feat these days. The only thing that might be better is a version with 4 wheels!

Love this bag - it is lightweight and well made. The wheels are smooth! I am a flight attendant and really wanted a bag that opened like a clamshell. I was tired of digging through my bag.

Love the build of this bag. The clamshell design helps to keep items separated. Will get years of delightful use of this bag.

This product looks good, wheels are wide and stought, and lots of pockets for organizing and to keep internals tidy. Material is good quality, the zippers I worry may be slightly small, but operate great and time will tell if they hold up like the rest of our Timbuk2 messenger bags.

I really like this suitcase. I borrowed my mom's last year for a trip and then decided to get one for myself. Just took it on a week's vacation and no complaints. Rolls really well. I like that there are handles on the top and side for it needs to be lifted or carried. Love the top zipper pouch for a pair of shoes.

I used this 2 days after it arrived for an 8 day INTL trip (pairing it up with the Impulse backpack). I got the medium size, which is fine as a domestic carry-on. Technically too big by 0.5 inches in 2 of 3 dimensions, but none of the 3 INTL airlines called me on it. It looks much smaller than the 43L it actually is. the molding of the back ground the telescope rails is genius, as it not only protects them but you get a lot more space inside from it. This back was just awesome on the trip. The split clamshell design made for easy packing/organizing. Mesh pocks are great. The small outside "top pocket" was great to stash stuff I would want to get out on the plane and could just pull out without removing from the overhead bin. Can't say enough good stuff about the wheels. Very smooth and quiet. 5 stars all day. If I had to made a suggestion, it would be to have a 2 inch expandable zipped on one side for more room. While it would then definitely not be carry-on, it would be a awesome bag to check. So this is an early review. after another 50K miles, will update. My biggest worry is that my spouse will steal it!

Used it once so far. Rolled great, seems well built and has the perfect organization for me. The separate pocket on the top for shoes is really nice as a runner to keep dirty/smelly shoes separate, although my size 8.5 Hoka speedboats were a tight squeeze so those with larger feet or shoes might have trouble. Front pocket also came in handy to temporarily store phone/wallet through TSA and receipts later. It seems fairly heavy, but would rather have it be a bit overbuilt.

Item arrived in great condition and was much more heavy duty, accessible and light-weight than I even anticipated. It has up well on its first eight flights.

This is the perfect carry on for those that tend to over pack, but want to only bring a carry on. You can fit so much into it! Looking forward to bringing it with me on my 5 week adventure through Europe this summer!!

I bought this suitcase for my boyfriend's gift and he absolutely loved it. He loves Timbuk2's products before and he loves it even more cause of it's numerous compartments, sleek style, and overall convenience of the case. Definitely will purchase other products when my bags are due for a change.

The is a well designed bag, we bought several and made side by side comparisons, the Timbuk2 bag won. The materials and craftsmanship was far superior to the other bags we tested. A couple were more exxpensive a couple less. All in all I would buy a second one if the need was to arise.

So far so good. Only gone on one trip - but this roller handled beautifully. I was impressed with the build quality and the wheels seem indestructible. Looking forward to many more miles in the future.

I have the medium version of this luggage and used it as a carry on with ANA (Boeing 777 300-ER, 787 Dreamliner) and Cebu Pacific (Airbus A330). I was a little skeptical this would work as a carryon since it is much larger than my normal small carry on luggage, but it fit no problem in the side and center overhead bins, with the wheel pointed in. The dimensions are pretty close (almost exact with the limits) but no one from the airlines questioned it or asked me to measure it. I think the only thing to be considered is the weight if packed full. I was definitely overweight but no one asked to weigh it during check-in. YMMV if traveling on stricter airlines. RE the bag itself: It is well made and seems durable. I like the skateboard wheels a lot. It takes a little getting used to not having 360 spinner wheels but it is fine. When rolling in the plane aisle, it was easier to push it in front of me instead of pulling. When I first received the bag, I did notice the plastic base and handles were a little warped or crooked. It didn't affect anything with the bag, just something I noticed upon receiving. I was headed out for vacation shortly so didn't bother to return it. After using it for a month everything worked fine.

Using for all airplane travel. Standard for carry on luggage and so far it's great. Like the 2 pockets and extra access from the front. Durable. Good looking. Wheels seem really heavy duty.

I have the smaller version but needed more space for a long trip. This is still compact but you will be amazed at how much you can fit into it!

This was a Christmas gift to my grandson. He has been borrowing his older brothers Timbuk 2. It has all the features that he likes and needs. Therefore, he wanted an identical one for his off to college and vacation travels.

I've had this bag for several months now and have used it for roughly 20 flights. As a carry on, the M sized bag is perfect. I've been able to easily fit it in overhead compartments for many of the planes Southwest and Volaris use. The design was very well though out. I can cram about 45lbs worth of clothes into it. The front compartment allows for easy access to toiletries or anything you keep there. The wheels roll so smoothly and quietly. They're longbord wheels which easily make it over many cracks. It doesn't have 4 wheels so you can roll it sideways but I've never had an issue with that. If needed I would just carry the bag sideways which has only happened a very few amount of times. It's a beautiful bag and the quality stands out when next to other bags at an airport. I've had to gate check the bag a few times and it has held up to the abuse it gets from the handlers. Overall a very high quality and durable bag.

I bought two XL and they are amazing. The shoe pocket fits my giant shoes, really didn't expect that. Build quality is superb and the wheels feel great. Casters 4 wheels would also be amazing, but the two week solution is more compact so I get the trade off. Going to be getting a medium for more mobile trips and the ability to store in tighter places.

I love my Timbuk2 roller bag!! This is in fact the second one I've owned. Sadly my first bag (that I loved for like 10 years) couldn't be repaired so their excellent customer service team set me up with a new bag. And after taking it on 2 international trips it still has all the features I love... it's incredibly roomy, the size is just right to prevent me from seriously overpacking, it's sturdy yet stylish, and it's always easy to pull/navigate around an airport with. I cannot say enough about how much I love these bags and this company as a whole!
