I have for decades been a fan of Ecco - loved the quality, fit, comfort, everything. I could buy any of their products blindly, knew my size, they would fit - trainers, walkers, boots, dress shoes. I still wear walkers I bought in 2016 and wingtips from 2017. But then something changed. I bought Vitrus 1 brown boots last November - and returned them: the fit was not that good, but it was mostly the quality: leather felt plasticky, sole was too stiff, and the brown color had a greenish hew and looked awful, nothing like on the picture. OK, I thought, maybe I should stick to black. This March ordered black wingtips. Same story. The fit not good at all - too shallow in the heel, I could feel it would blister me; arch support - gone, instead an annoying step across the sole; quality - not what you'd expect from over $200 shoe (stitches, sole, lining); and the leather didn't feel like leather at all. Very frustrating. I looked at my old pair - made in Slovenia. I looked at the new - made in China... Maybe that explains. Returned (thank you Zappos for a great return policy!). I had the same experience years ago with Doc Marten's - made in England were glorious; made in China - killed it completely. Globalization really doesn't work for good old brands.

I’ve only worn them for a couple of days so far, so they’re still breaking in. Felt a little snug at first but they seem to be stretching a bit with wear. They look great with jeans or a suit.

Another terrific shoe in the Ecco lineup. Sizing is consistent across dozen+ pairs I've bought for work and casual. I bought 2 pairs of this model. They took a little breaking in before top of foot felt comfortable. But now they fit like a glove with usual first rate Ecco cushioning and they're my go-to for travel as well as days when I have a lot of walking to do but need a business casual shoe. Only complaint is the unusual ridged heel sole design (see underside view.) Ridge pattern doesn't add traction and means you only get half the wear of a solid sole. Seems to be a styling affectation, which is unusual for Ecco. Have already taken 1st pair to shoemaker for replacement heel. Other than that- great shoe.

I bought these to replace the Clarks I’d been wearing to work. The good is that they fit and are very well made and good looking. The not so good is that they cost about twice as much. Still a good deal for me. The Clarks had too thick vibram soles that didn’t belong on this kind of shoe. These are about perfect!

I thought I ordered ½ size smaller on these, which would be 10.5. Instead, I guess they got ordered in my "default" size...US 11. They fit fine and felt good immediately. My 2nd day at work with them. No sore feet, perfectly great...and look fine with jeans too.

I also like some Clarks shoe types...although I find some to be great, others terrible.

I'm a woman, and women's Ecco shoes are too narrow for my duck-shaped feet. I have ordered the Soft 7 sneaker and now these; they are amazing, and more substantial than the women's versions. Ladies, the heels are narrow, the forefoot and toe box are roomy, they are walk-all-day-sightseeing-with-attitude shoes. The inside of the shoe is lined and smooth enough to be comfortable without socks, should you roll that way. No one needs to know that you ordered men's shoes unless you want to tell them. My challenge is that these would be great for my size 13 husband, but I don't want to be shoe twins.

These shoes are gorgeous. I bought them for my husband. Wish the Euro sizing was more like American sizing but as far as the quality and look, they are incredible.

I am so irritated and disappointed with the misleading description. This seems like a great shoe. However, I was specifically interested in the leather lined feature ... its only partially lined. There is fabric in the heel and toe. I will be sending these back
