These take a little to break in but once you do they are great! I purchased the tortious shell buckle before these and found that the none leather was uncomfortable and squeaked. The leather ones do not. They are a super cute version of Birks!!!! Also, I have a super wide foot and the “narrow” fit.

These are my 2nd pair of Birkenstock’s and love this style!! Wear around the house since I’m working from home more. Very cute with jeans, sweats, etc...

My sister had these in black with the regular sized buckle. She wore them all the time until they simply wore out (a long, long time). I recently bought them in the tan with the big buckle. I chose a size smaller than my usual Birkenstock size because I knew I would never wear socks with these, and they fit perfectly. When I walk in them, I curl my toes a little bit, and they stay on just right. I think they look cute!

Love these sandals. Although marked as narrow width, i wear wide and they fit perfectly. Having an adjustable strap helps to adjust to a comfortable good fit. Have flat feet and the arch & sole support are advantageous. Will be buying in other colors. Wear an 8 1/2 W and 39 fit without any problem.

I always take a 9 or 9-1/2. I ordered the size 39 (marked as a 8-8-1/2) and they fit perfectly. I also do not have a narrow foot, but the narrow fits perfectly as well. I made all these decisions based on the prior comments and there were all very true. The big buckle is what drew me to these. I am not a fan of the typical Birkenstocks, but these are very stylish. They are very comfortable from day 1. The leather footbed is actually very soft and feels good. This is my first pair of Birkenstocks, so I do not have a comparison to the usual cork footbed. Overall, I could not be more pleased and looking forward to a summer full of everyday wear.

I usually wear a 7 1/2. The size 37 fit perfect. They are not as comfortable as the regular Birkenstocks…but they make up for it in cuteness and the big buckle. I wouldn’t go hiking in them but they are comfortable enough for light walking such as going to the grocery store. I love the black leather insole which will be so much easier to keep clean looking!

Fit TTS for me. Buckle rubbed against the top of my toes and shoes made a "farting" noise sometimes when I walked. My teenage sons thought these looked less "Birkenstock" than other styles, but they both agreed they were still ugly and since they were not comfortable for me, they were returned.

I have four pairs of the traditional Madrid and take them with me on vacation - it dresses up any outfit. However the big buckle is too big plus the weight of the buckle presses down on the top of my foot. I wish Zappos would carry these in Medium width instead of only narrow and I hope Birkenstock brings back the more classic Madrid.

This is my third pair of this style. So comfortable and easy to walk in all day. I go down one size.

Love these so much. The sandcastle color goes with everything and the brush gold buckle is gorgeous. Was worried the larger buckle might hurt my foot but o was wrong. Wore these all day right out of the box and they were super comfy!

I do love these also have in patent leather these are More comfortable than the patent but it depends on look you want . These are more everyday Birk feel and patent more dressy . These did come from Zappos not in best shape but since we sold out they gave me a small discount but if they had size I would of exchanged . They came with no box and no tags and to be honest looked like a return . Do wish I got a bigger discount still paid a lot .

I was hesitant to order these because of the narrow width. I debated and debated and wanted them so badly that I decided to go ahead and give them a try. Well I should have ordered them 6 months ago when I first saw them because the narrow width is totally misleading. They fit perfectly and are so comfortable and cute. I LOVE them. Don’t be afraid of the narrow. They fit exactly like all my other Birks…perfectly!

Could not love these more. Comfort of Birkenstocks, but elevated style.

I have never been able to wear Birkenstocks in the past despite their amazing reputation as they always flopped around and were either too wide or too short. I bought this style on a whim and didn’t realize they now have narrow width sandals. These are perfect for my flat and thin feet. I have the buckle at the tightest setting and have been wearing them a little at a time and boy, do they really mold to your feet. That waking on a hard surface feeling is gone and now blossomed into a walking massage. They no longer flip flop but actually stay on my feet. The metal buckle no longer bothers me (it’s a bit tight at first) and most impressive of all, my husband who hates Birkenstock shoes loves the style, as do I. So classy and so comfortable. An amazing find!

Just received my big buckle cognac colored Birkenstocks. The 39 fits perfect and is my normal size. I feel these can be a little dressier than the 2 strap pairs I’m am wearing now.

I have a little trouble with Birkenstock because of sizing and style… depending on style I can wear a 38 and some are too short and need 39 then they are either to wide or to long. So I’m a 8 to 8/12 I got 38 and they are perfect. Some places list sizing as 38/8 and some now 39/8to 81/2 confusing considering they are both Birkenstock Same shoe different Retailers. Anyway I hope this helps for this style. The Oiled Blue is very nice.. very neutral Leather lined footbed.. Great Buy

These are so cute....but just too wide for my feet.

I love birkenstocks. The more you wear them the more they become a part of your foot! I would advice those out there thinking of buying to have your foot measured at a reputable shoe store. I usually wear a size 9 in other brands but birks I'm a size 8-8.5 (or 39 EU). My first birks were a 9 and I really wanted to love them but they were too big so glad I went to a birks store who helped me find the right size. Related to the madrids they are comfortable and cute. I bought the blue fog and they are perfect for summer wear.

Love these! This is my second pair of Madrid Big Buckle. I only gave 4 stars for comfort because they do require a break in period. The style says they are narrow, I do not have narrow feet and these run on the wide side, and I have the buckled on the tightest. I get so many compliments on these. Definitely a dressier style and can be worn with everything! I tried the black patent leather style as I wanted a gold buckle option but they are not as comfortable as the oiled leather. I am in between sizes in Birkenstock and typically wear an 8.5 or a 9, I purchased the 40 in these because I don’t like when my little toe and the toe next to it hit the edge of the shoe.

Got these birks in the pink color. Can’t wear flip flops anymore need some support. These are v cute and a good alternative to flip flops. I have other Birks but these are definitely more stylish and although they need to be broken in I can tell they will be a summer staple.

I love these! I do have a narrow foot and these are perfect. Much improved on the Madrid big buckle from last year with the plastic foot bed - this is cork and feels great. The color is a great neutral. Very happy and recommend. (Oh, mind are still a little squeaky when I walk but it doesn’t bother me!)

Love the blue color in the oiled leather. Very comfortable - bought them to take on a beach vacation. The big buckle gives them an updated look. They look great with everything from cropped or cuffed jeans to skirts and sundresses.

Love these new birks! I was true to normal Birkenstock sizing and like a more stylish slide option but with comfort and support of Birkenstock.
