I loved them for two days. Then, my 10-month-old dog ate them ... *sigh*. In any event, I found a new pair and I will love them as well. One note: the footbed is made of "smooth leather, NOT PLASTIC. Read all of the information on the page! It will inform you!

Sooo beautiful but big buckle cuts into top of the foot. I kept them and with time it got better. I wore them with socks around house for a day and it got better after that.

These shoes are so cute. But my feet aren’t narrow so I can’t wear them comfortably. ZAPPOS! Please offer this style Birkenstocks in regular width so people with regular width feet can enjoy the cuteness of these shoes! More specifically I was so excited about trying my first pair of Birkenstocks because these look super cute. They did look super cute on, but the narrowness prevented my feet from being comfortable in them. Doing some research online come to find out many women’s sizes in the United States are only offered in narrow width when other parts of the world offer regular width in addition to narrow for most styles. I wish Zappos would also offer these in regular width. I think I would be able to wear Birkenstocks comfortably if they were. Good quality looking shoe. And I know some people are obsessed with Birkenstocks. Unfortunately I’m not on the Birkenstocks train yet.

The sandals would be fine, but they arrived looking worn. The shoebox was damaged and smashed in. For the price of these sandals, I would prefer to get a fresh pair. Returning.

The strap was uncomfortable. It was too narrow.

I returned these - they were beautiful but I couldn't walk in them. Probably the Birkenstock footbed - not for me.

I really wanted to like this sandal, because it's super cute, but I don't know how you're supposed to walk!! The buckle is so uncomfortable. I could only take a few steps. I don't need something digging into the top of my foot with every step.

The top buckle hurt when I walked so I ended up returning them. I really liked the style and look of these sandals.

Sizing is accurate and they look so cute! HOWEVER, they are not comfortable. The big buckle hits right where my foot bends to walk. It actually makes the top of my foot sore. I do love the look and already wore them out, so I have to keep them. They will just have to serve as a special occasion shoe where I know I will not be doing more walking than from my car to a chair. Super fashionable, though!

I didn't love the sandcastle color on me. Although it's close to my skin color it seemed dull. Also, I find the Madrid takes more effort to keep them on your feet. I prefer the Gizeh or Arizona. I always wear a 39(narrow for the styles that come in narrow) and these fit the same as always. I returned them but they are stylish looking.

The leather was scuffed as other reviewers mentioned. One shoe was scuffed badly enough to be fully through the colored dye of the leather. Unfortunately, these were purchased for a Mother’s Day gift, so it created a bit of a headache.

They turned out to be very hard to walk with. I normally like this style but I didn’t keep them.

I have 5 other pairs of birks but these feel smaller and the strap is uncomfortable. Super cute though.. Back they go.

My size is 8.5 and I ordered the 38 which is my usual Birkenstock. I've got lots of the Arizonas and thought I'd try the Madrid. It was a hard no. The length was fine, but the strap was too tight even when I loosened it all the way. Such a pity because it is cute. I even let my daughter try it on since she has teenager feet, and she also said it was too tight across.

Wanted a darker color

I wear a 5.5 and the size 5.5-6 was large on me - there was an extra inch of room. I ordered the narrow width, and it is still too wide.

My received date 3/7/2024 and return date must be by 3/6/2024. This needs to be corrected.

Good fit. Happy to find this style in narrow. Less support than Birkenstock Arizona but happy for the variety.

Buckle rubbed the top of my foot. It was hard to keep the shoes on when walking. They look lovely, but are uncomfortable. Will go back to an older style.

I own this shoe with the suede footbed and it is perfect in every way. I decided to order the black, but wanted the buckle to be silver, so had to go with the smooth leather lining. NO COMPARISON! The smooth lining version not only doesn’t feel the same, it doesn’t fit the same. It seems smaller, no matter how I adjust the strap. That smooth leather footbed has nowhere near the comfort and the secure feeling of the suede. I only tried them out in my house, so they are on the way back. Guess I will have to sport that gaudy gold buckle if I want the black, but probably not. Unfortunately, that is a game changer for me.
