This is my 2nd pair I couldn't be happier with the shoes. Everyone at work is amazed with the steel toe and that they look like regular shoes.

Unlike the previous reviewer, these shoes were exactly what I was looking for: a low-cut steel-toed workboot for summer. I can walk all day in these and there was no break-in needed. They can almost pass as non-work shoes, and that's a plus. For me, true-to-size (6.5). I'm glad I purchased.

Overall I am extremely happy with my new New Balance shoes. At first I noticed the shoes were a bit heavier than shoes I normally wear (I suppose due to the safety features), but after wearing them for a couple days the weight difference was barely noticeable anymore. The shoes offer great protection.

Ordered a 6. Shoe felt extra big and bulky not to mention heavy.

I loved this shoe when I first got it (9EE) as it has a protected toe box and that is very much needed. However it was half a year in that I noticed a corn formed in the middle of my wider foot. I'm undecided whether to continue getting this shoe as it doesn't come any wider than 2E and clearly a 3E or 4E is what I need to stop damaging that foot. On the other hand... I have to work now and not later. :(

Overall it is a good product and would buy it again. They are well made for the price, I tried a 23.00 off brand steel-toed shoes at a big box store, they fell apart in a week and jacked up my feet and legs. But New Balance are well made, I also wear their tennis shoes as well. I do however, have only once complaint and that the shoes can be a bit more comfy. They feel like cardboard on the inside and wish they had move give and a bit more arch support. Yet still a massive improvement over the other pair I had.

I'm a woman with wide feet so I've found it difficult to find Safety shoes for Women. In the last few years I've had to buy Men's shoes as they were the only ones that would fit my feet comfortably as I was only finding them in Women's narrow. I've worn New Balance as my "off day" shoes for years, on the recommendation of my old Podiatrist, and didn't know they made Safety shoes. Thank Heavens I was looking through this website and found these. They're comfortable and still look like a woman's shoe! I eill definitley be purchasing Safety shoes from New Balance from now on.

The style is pretty, and of course working in a warehouse one needs proper shoes. They are heavier than my foam NB sneakers of course. I can't say they are comfortable as I am so use to the foam sneakers. My feet hurt because they are not used to the leather sneakers that are stiffer, and so I will get used to them. All in all, they are a great fit, great shoe and I am looking forward to buy more like them. Boots are stiffer, and my tender feet are not used to these types of shoes but to have a sneaker steel toe is pretty incredible in itself. I have come to expect shoes that are great to be a New Balance brand and NB done it awesome again. Thanks Zappos for have yet made another great shoe.

I like the shoes! I spend 10 hour per day on my feet. Like New Balance, ha e toe room. My only complaint is any steel toe shoe I've ever bought do not have enough cushion! They are hard! So I bought a good insole to put in my shoes. When I pay close to $100 for shoes I shouldn't have to spend more money to make them a bit more comfy.

Meets my job requirements which is great. I really like the sizing options and cushioning. Would like to see NB make a hiker type boot for more industries. They are a little heavy but really not bad considering the weight of the steel and all the other safety standards that are put into this shoe. I find other brands were much heavier. Although the shoe is overall a good shoe, I feel like the toe box should be designed better and widened at the front of the shoe. The height of the toe box seems to be a good amount of space and perfect for thicker socks but the rubbing on either side of the toes is irritating after 10 minutes of wearing them.

Super cute, very narrow. A co worker said I should go a half size bigger and 1 width wider ... my pink toes and others at our Facility had to buy pinkie toe cushions. The first week I could barely walk by the end of my 10 hour shift. I was waiting for the "break in" period to end, but 2 months later they still hurt.

These shoes are obviously meant for a different type of situation than I bought them for, to wear to work (in a hospital). I find them very uncomfortable when wearing them all day. They're stylish. I'm sure I'll find places to wear them (hiking, etc), but for me, they miss the mark on comfort.

Fits good except arch support is not there, would have to add an insert which would mean moving to a larger size. Also, very heavy. Selected this item because of poor selection in wide wide width sizes.

I been wearing New Balance shoes for 20 plus years. Work shoes for about 4 years. This last pair seem tp run a 1/2 inch shorter than the last pair. Don't know if Ican break these in. I still prefer New Balance over the other name brands but I do need to talk to someone about these.

Huge. Ordered my normal size and they were probably 2 whole sizes too big. They are VERY heavy too. Definitely overkill for my needs, so I returned them.

I bought these shoes in an 8.5 wide in women's for work. My feet kept flopping out. With the steel toe they are very heavy, if they had fit right there is no way I could wear them for 9 hours. I did return them but have to wait for 15 days before the company will even touch them. I am really disappointed because all my shoes are from new balance.

Tried the black 627 (from Amazon) which were so stiff and heavy it was like they had a steel sole too! Tried the gray suede, better...still pretty stiff and heavy but at least the shoe bent some at the toe when walking, of course going wide (for toe room) created heel slippage. I usualy wear a size up in NB, but had to go with a wide, because the toe box is pretty narrow which is not good, when made of steel. Tried the 589, which is composite toe. The 589 fit better: felt slightly longer, lighter, had more heel (stability) support and less heel slippage, and had a wider symetrical toe box. Sending back the 627 as they are a poor fit and too uncomfortable.
