I had expected more when I read the reviews for these sandals. I think mostly I was disappointed with the bottoms. I need a flat bottomed shoe. I have had a knee replacement and need another. One leg is now slightly longer and my balance gets off easily if the shoe bottom is not flat. These narrow at the bottom and would not work. They are an attractive sandal and I’m sure they would be comfortable too. Thank you Zappos for the easy returns!

This shoe is true to size or may run very slightly large. It is completely adjustable, provides a surprising amount of support, and feels great on your foot. It looks good on. I am 59, with bunions, wide forefoot, narrow heel and flexible flat foot -- and I walked all over town the first day I got these. This is my favorite sandal this summer -- goes with everything (I bought camel color) and feels wonderful on.

They are a little matronly but looked like they would be comfortable. Unfortunately I couldn’t even get my foot in the shoe. I know from past experience that I need wide width in Taos brand but took a chance...oh well.

I have plantar faciatis and have a lot of trouble finding comfortable shoes that aren’t UGLY. The ability to adjust these sandals in three places makes these a winner! I have a wide instep, high arch and narrow heel...these adjust to fit all three parts of my foot. They are very comfortable....firm footbed without feeling hard. I wear 8 1/2 - 9 with one foot bigger than the other which means that sometimes a size 40 swims on my left foot. Because of all the adjustments, these fit BOTH feet great. They are expensive but worth it.

One of THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I've EVER tried on right out of the box! Regrettably, I had to return them because I received the wrong color from the fulfillment center. Seriously, the leather is soft and supple, the hook/loop closures make adjustments infinitely easy and adaptable to each foot. The foot bed is comfortable, and if you've had knee and/or hip surgeries, as I have, you need comfortable shoes, and these shoes are extremely comfortable. I am about to "break the bank" and order 3 more colors of this same style. The shoes fit my 8Med foot perfectly after one or two fine-tuned adjustments of the straps. The heel height is perfect to flatter the leg with shorts or dresses and is sufficiently comfortable to walk around on for many hours. Can't wait to get the correct order/color!

Such a cute shoe but just too narrow over my toe box. It is adjustable but I need way too much adjusting to look right.

The back strap was not adjustable enough and slid on my heel. They were comfortable otherwise but will have to go back.

Very comfortable footbed but the side of the shoe where the leather folds over rubs against the foot within seconds. I don't see this stretching out sufficiently to stop the rubbing so they are goign back. Disappointing since the rest of the shoe is great. Will have to look for other Taos styles.

Beautiful sandal, but the right foot crossing strap was way too long and it gapped, like it was stretched out, so the sandal felt loose and floppy. Back they go.

I was really excited for these sandals but when I tried them on, they didn't feel secure. The straps didn't feel solid enough to worry about falling and/or slipping out of them when walking. It is a bummer as I have Tao sandals from 10 years ago that I am still wearing because they are strong and so comfortable - Wish I could find some Taos that comfortable again.

The soles were not slip resistant.

The arch did not fill in my foot, but I do have high arches

I have high arches so need arch support but the arch support in these felt hard and actually hurt over time. They’re cute and I wanted to love them but simply too uncomfortable.

Too many strap pieces - didn't feel comfortable

It was true to size for me. The material was excellent quality. I loved the support and height. Unfortunately, the shoe didn’t work out for me. The metal part where the strap went through on the upper top inside dug into my foot. Also, I have a narrow heel and the back strap left a gap, even when tightened as far as possible. I wish the Taos would make the shoe with a different strap design!

Nicely made shoe. Run narrow and short. I am usually a 9 1/2 and sometimes a 9 1/2 wide. I ordered the 9 1/2 wide and they were extremely narrow. I couldn’t close the straps all the way. Also, my toes were hanging off the front of the sandal, which never happens with a 9 1/2.

I got two left shoes in my box.

I ordered 1 European Size samller (In Wide) and it fit fine re: Length. Except my foot slowly moved towards the Front as I walked. So disappointed as I have a Taos Sandal with 3 straps on SAME Cork Wedge footbed & sole. In order to keep my foot in this Taos Universe: I would have to make the LONG (Criss Cross or Z Shape) strap TOO tight. Then it presses on my Pinky Toe and digs into large Tendon between ankle bones. The little heel pad ON heel strap hit me in the WRONG place, but IF that was the only drawback - I could have padded it (or padded my foot!). I do very well in a Chaco Sandal with Z Strap: but there is tension from going into Sole so it retains the adjustment AND it is on a Flat Sole! Lots of people love the Taos Trulie (same as this but with Braided Leather Straps. Try them!! So.....I will try 1 more Taos style (but it does NOT come in Wide).

I decided to try the WIDE as a similar Taos Sandal with SAME Wedge is a tiny bit too snug on Left Pinky Toe (it is a Wedge with NO Back Strap). The wide was GREAT for my toes and ball of foot: But the heel strap is Huge and I think I am sliding forward a little. The strap combination and Overlapping on Pinky toes is not so good for me. BUT WHEN you attach the Short strap 1st & put longer strap OVER short strap: there is less pressure on Pinky Toes. I love the cork wedge and sole: Great Arch support & a little cushioning too. But.....I will go down a 1/2 size (in the WIDE) and see. Ideally, my foot would be much happier with 2 individual straps & an adjustable heel! Taos has other Cork Wedges with adjustable straps over toes & ankles: But NOT in Wide Width! My Feet: Wide toes; Narrow Heel, High Instep, Mid - High Arch. Morton's Neuroma.

The footbed is very comfortable, but too short for my foot. Might be better if I’d ordered a size larger, but the strap was a deal breaker. Even though I ordered wide, the strap just barely went across my foot, and the heel strap too far down the foot to really be comfortable. These are going back.

Comfortable footbed with cork cushioning but sole was stuff and slippery.

I have these in black and they fit perfectly as did these. However, the color of navy is not right for me. It was not a true navy.

Although I often wear a 39 in European shoe sizes, the 40 was the right length for these sandals. The leather was very soft, and all straps could be adjusted. Unfortunately, I found the sole to be so stiff that it didn't give while walking, which felt clunky. I had to return them.

I was so hoping this shoe would give me the comfort I was looking for. Very well made shoe. Fit good. But with the initial fit it just didn’t say keep me!
