I ordered a 9 which fit me perfectly. Disclosure: this is the 5th pair of this Taos sandal that I own. The first four pairs (taupe, beige, blue and black) had the braided straps. This is my first pair with the leather straps. I love this shoe because it is difficult to find sandals with good arch supports. I wear orthotics in my closed shoes and this Taos sandal provides enough support for me to walk all. I also live in a warm climate and wear sandals from March through November so they get a lot of use.

I have planter fasciitis and it’s hard to find cute sandals with support. These are awesome. The footbed is comfy, fit is spot on, and I love the adjustable straps. Lots of support without feeling like I’m walking on golf balls. Highly recommend these sandals! Love that they came in Wide.

Taos tend to run narrow, so I ordered a wide, and it was wonderful for my generous, but still medium-width foot. I am a true 9 1/2, and the 40 (9-9.5) was too short, so I reordered a 41 (10-10.5). Even then, however, I didn't think it was an ideal fit, because it was just a little big. The EXCELLENT arch support was a little too far back, and the heel strap was riding a little low. Even with adjustable straps, the low heel strap made the sandal feel like it might slip off. So sad, because the Universe sandals are supportive and perfect for all-day wear, if you can get the right fit.

I was very skeptical about paying almost $200 for a sandal, but my feet just can't take flat shoes as much as they used to. So I tried these Taos sandals. I'm glad I paid the money! They feel fantastic. My feet are properly elevated, my foot ball and toes are relieved of any pressure and the sides of my toes don't rub against anything because I can adjust the width of the strap. I'm on cloud 9. The only problem with these shoes is the back strap & the strap over the instep. This is where you'll have to play with the shoes for a while to get the correct fit. For many the back strap will be loose. But once you adjust the instep strap & the toe strap to the correct fit, the back strap will tighten. I know it sounds weird but once you get the shoe, you'll understand what I"m talking about.

Cute shoe. Fit my difficult feet well. Kept in one color and returned another. I have other Taos sandals where the straps have stretched. I need a soft strap and Taos makes them so I'm keeping a pair of these and also keeping my fingers crossed

I love this sandal. This is my third pair. It replaces my first pair bought two years ago. Perfect for daily, warm weather wear. Comfort, support and good looks! My only complaint would be that the tan leather can pick up stains. I also bought this sandal in black and the color and texture are stain proof.

These sandals are very comfortable, but just a bit too short for my foot. I ordered the red, which are very cute, but I really needed a more subtle color since this would be my only pair of decent sandals. Later I might re-order these in a "fun" color again although I felt like my toes were too close to the end. I usually wear a 9.5 and the 40 was just too close on the end of the toe.

This is my second pair of Taos Universe. They're reasonably stylish, and I like the cork platform sole. That said, what really sells them is the comfort - the leather is soft, all the straps are adjustable, the fit is perfect for my size 5 1/2 feet, and the arch support is excellent. I was nervous with the first pair as the soles seemed a little too stiff, but from day one, I've found them to be attractive, supportive and comfortable. Definitely recommend.

I am not a big reviewer but have to give a shout out for these sandals. So comfy that I hate to take them off! I really cannot express how happy I am with the comfort. I have horrible feet! I have crazy high arches, wide foot but narrow heels. I also have boney feet with bilateral bunions and neuromas in both my feet. Three different doctors say I have joint damage in my feet from gout (based on X -ray)...did not know that my painful flares were from gout (normal uric acid levels btw). Anyway, you get the picture..very bad feet. The only draw back was that the velcro began to come off fairly early on but I justed sewed it back in place myself and it stayed put.

I am so happy with my purchase of this shoe! They are cute and super comfy! I am in my mid-50s, Very active, and only wear shoes that feel good. The leather on these sandals is Extremely soft, and the straps are adjustable. I wear comfort Sandals every day during spring, summer and fall. I was looking for a dressier style That I could wear to work. These did the trick! I read reviews first, and ordered one size up. I typically wear in 9.5 and ordered a 41 in these, which converts to a 10-10.5. I may buy additional colors.

Very happy with these shoes. Offer solid arch support, comfy sole, and are super cute.

I usually have trouble with European sizing and Taos was no exception. I wear a 41 in Dansko so I expected the same fit as Zappos had recommended but I had to exchange a size 41 Taos for a size 42 because the shoe was a bit too short. My toes reached right up to the edge and when I stood up, they looked like they would hangover the edge a tiny bit. That is not comfortable for me. I would say I had to go up a half size, not a full size. There is a some space left (a little more than I would like ) before my foot reaches the edge of the shoe but I prefer this over the shoe being too short. I wish European sizing would be more consistent. Regardless, these shoes are very comfortable and have great support so I am keeping them.

This sandal is very comfortable and the straps soft and adjustable. The crossover strap was not as adjustable for my narrow heel but did adjust well over the toes. I have a narrow heel and medium width at my toes. I had to send them back but a beautiful sandal and comfortable foot bed and arch.

This is an amazingly comfortable sandal. I love the adjustable Velcro straps and the padded heal strap. I've suffered from heel spurs for the past five months, and have worn nothing but my Hoka running shoes to work. I'm pretty much healed up, but was very cautious to go back to wearing anything less than the ultra padded Hoka's. These have superior padding, moderate support, and I can wear them all day, standing on my feet, with no issues. I also have flat, wide feet. They're my first pair of Toas Footwear, and they really work for me. These obviously aren't made for you to look like a "hottie" in them, but that's not why I bought them. My feet are thanking me!

The shoe is very comfortable with wonderful arch support. I ordered my regular size (8.5), but in the wide width. My toes came all the way to the end - the shoe felt too short. The Trulie in that same size fit nicely, in the regularly width. The velcro showed on the cross strap, as it didn't reach all the way to the end (perhaps due to my higher arch?).

There’s a ridge on the back strap that bothers the back of my heel. Will have to return. Too bad as the rest is so comfortable.

These are comfortable, offer full-on support, and they fit my narrow, low volume feet! I tried the Taos Trulie first, because I like the look of the woven leather. But they were very scratchy. These are the same style, but they are made of soft leather and feel great. I've been searching to find a supportive, walk-all-day sandal for my hard-to-fit feet, and these are the ones. That said, the style of these is fine and not frumpy in the way many supportive sandals are, but they are certainly not stylish. With so few options for narrow feet, I'm good with these.

These are pretty good, and fairly attractive and comfortable. There's one problem--The straps aren't quite long enough, and they don't fit together well. The closures are velcro and they keep opening up. I wouldn't buy them again.

I wanted to keep these sandals, oh how I tried. The arch support is fantastic and that's what I look for with my high arches. They are cute on. My left foot fits fantastic but my right foot doesn't. My toes go over the front and it isn't comfortable. Sadly I am returning, to expensive to "hope" they will stretch out and fit.

First time trying the Taos brand. These are truly beautiful and well made sandals. The recommended size, 39, fit well in length and width and I loved the Camel color. That said, they just didn't feel good on my feet. The arch was a little high for me, the strap on the left sandal rubbed uncomfortably against my ankle, and the heel height, or maybe the way it tapered, made me feel a bit less stable. I'm returning but ordering a different style of Taos, since I am impressed by their quality.

I really wanted to like these. At first they felt so comfortable and I thought the style was very cute. As I wore them around the house I felt a strange nerve sensation in one of my toes. They were hitting me at the wrong spot I guess. I was sad to send them back even though they were a splurge price-wise.

I really wanted these shoes to work, but they were only okay in terms of looks and were ill fitting. I returned them because the arch support was not in the correct location. The support was closer to the shoe's heel instead of the middle of the shoe where I needed it.

I'm a European 37 and ordered the 37 equivalent. US my size is 6.5-7 so the 6-6.5 was too small lengthwise and the 7-7.5 would have been too big. Not a Zappos problem, it's a Taos problem. The buckle on the side rubbed on my bunion also, so sent back.

This sandal was true to size. The straps were uncomfortable as they rubbed the outside of my pinkie toes. Very cute though.

The size seemed loose. The strap would not stay fastened making the shoe unsteady to walk in. Too little arch support. After wearing them I didn't think I could return them. Too much money for a shoe unhappy with.
