I was surprised to find this shoe cut into the side of my foot, as the leather is very stiff and hard. I have other Mephisto Helen shoes and they are very comfortable. Could not wear this at all.

This is the 2nd pair of the same style shoe. It looks so stylish & fits beautifully! I have worn Helen Sandler’s for over 15 years. I have a very narrow foot & it enables me to tighten the straps to hold my foot well. I can walk for miles in this shoe & not even noticed that I have worn it all day & walked so much! This is a fantastic shoe & I would highly recommend it!

SOOO dissapointed! These are so cute but wont work for me. I read many of the reviews and some stated the leather was stiff and hurt but some said they were extremely comfortable... well, I got a pair that literally cut into my foot around the toe area. Leather was extremely stiff and hard. To be fair, I do have a bit of a bunion on my right foot and that is exactly where the strap is. The footbed is AMAZINGLY comfortable and has great arch support but I have to return them.

I love Helen and have several pairs, but I wanted something a little different from the standard single color. When I saw this combination I bought it immediately, in spite of a review that said it was stiff. I didn't find that to be true at all. This combination, just like all of the Helen sandals, is comfortable from the moment I put it on. I LOVE IT and encourage anyone to get it. If you like the Helen sandal, you'll love this one just as much.

I think this is my 6th or 7th pair of the Mephisto Helen shoe. I buy one pair every year or two. While I still love the shoe and the arch support which is very helpful for my plantar fasciitis, I feel that over the years they have been making them slightly cheaper and it just isn't as hearty of a shoe as it used to be. I would rather pay a little more money and not have Mephisto cheapen the product. It's not a big difference, but noticeable to a long-time, repeat customer (especially since I have older pairs lying around to compare). At any rate, it is still a great sandal. This definitely runs 1/2-1 size smaller than usual. Normally I take a 41, but ordered a 42 after reading the reviews and I was very glad that I made the substitution!

i did not feel the quality was Up to Mephisto as usual standard. Because these are patents and shiny leather, the leather is stiffer and less comfortable to wear initially. I am hoping they will soften up with use. Still a very comfortable sandal for city walking.

I should have known better--9 1/2 AA here--Mephisto has always been way too wide for me. But a Zappos reviewer in Zappos mentioned the great fit to her narrow feet, and so I ordered these good-looking shoes with the always terrific Mephisto arch support (which I badly need). I bought two sizes smaller than usual, hoping that the shoes would then be proportionately narrower. No such luck. Couldn't even keep them on my feet. Sending back. Mephisto and Birkenstock, please copy! Lots of American women have narrow feet, and we do mean NARROW. If you want to sell us shoes, you'll have to do better!

I had the same Helen for 8 years, and threw them out only because the soil wasn't good any more, wasn't cushy, and finally fell into pieces. I bought new ones two months ago and always kept band-aid with me, guess why). Let me tell you, this is not leather at all, one stripe is torn already and Zappos agreed to replace the bad pair with the new one, but I think I should have taken the money back instead.

Very disappointed to have to return these. Have worn Helen for years, but this definitely ran narrow in the footbed. Where is the Mephisto consistency!?

I've worn Mephisto Helens for many years so this is probably my 10th pair or more. Although a 41 is called size 10, it fits my 9 1/2 feet with no length to spare. if you are a true 10, you may wish a 41. I have on occasion had 41s and they worked for my feet, too. I don't think they'd truly fit an 11.

COLOR: The white silver combo is elegant and perfect for summer. SIZE: I wear a size 7 or 7.5 shoe and get a 37 in Mephisto. They fit fine. The shoe box recommends having a 6mm space both behind/in front of your foot when wearing the shoes. That's less than .25 of an inch. Close to the width of a simple pencil. However, in the online video, the model has quite a gap of space behind her heel and back edge of the shoe. Personally, I think it looks goofy and would make the shoe 'flip-flop'.

Looks great and felt good but for some reason arch support bed feels soft. Hope this come in higher heels but not much expensive price.

Takes a little bit to break them in but otherwise very comfy! My new go to sandal!

So I’m a solid medium width, womens 12 and I rarely have fit issues with length or width in other shoe brands. Mephisto calls a size 43 equivalent to a 13 but it’s absolutely not. I find this to be similar to Dansko sizing. I need a 43 in a Dansko sandal as well. As you can see I am barely fitting into these. Mephisto recommends a 7-8mm margin in the toe box and by those standards these are too small so I may have to return them. They are very comfy though and have great support so I really don’t want to! Beautiful sandals. I wish they did a 44 or a 43 wide would solve the problem as well. Definitely size up!

This sandal is cute. However, I have tried this brand of shoe before and it feels stiff and like walking on a board. I have high arches and skinny feet. The shoe fit perfectly; I just couldn't tolerate the stiffness.

Despite the other negative reviews, I ordered anyway, but sadly have to send back. I've had two previous pairs of the Helen and they were great. The leather on these are so stiff even just a couple of minutes of wearing in the house, I can tell they were going to cut up my feet, while the pair I bought 10+ years ago, I wore out of the store and walked for 5 miles without a problem. Will try a different style and hope for better quality.

Very comfortable with good support. They get more and more comfortable the more you wear them. Not too “clunky” like some. I got white mix to go with white clothing in the summer.

This is a reorder for me of the Helen sandal that I love. It fits true to size feels supportive and looks cool. This time I ordered a very pretty blue shade and the big toe rubbed a bit due to stiffer metallic material ( which makes it pretty not cheesey). The stiffness mostly went away and it gets better each wear so I am glad I bought them.

I've worn many versions of "Helen" and it is unfortunate how they don't always seem to be made the same depending upon the material used. Those that have stiffer (shiny) straps have cracked and hurt. The nubuck have always been more comfortable. This particular blend of materials is just right. It seems to be a toss-up with what you get.

I had wanted to get Birkenstock and could never find the right size or comfort. I saw these Mephisto in a specialty shop (did not have my size) and knew they were for me. They are so comfortable, right out of the box, no rubbing anywhere. I love the very soft leather, and cushion. Note, in a closed shoe I wear a 6.5, 37 Euro, so these size 36 are large. Mephisto and some other brands are like that. I usually look for sale shoes, but comfort with style trumps sale price, which is often a mistake. Plus, Zappo's return policy and speedy shipping is the best.

Great fit per normal. I own 18 pairs of mephisto’s and would highly recommend the brand unless you have wide feet. They are comfortable and supportive. This print is super cute and the red is a true red not a red orange or brick colored red. The leather is crazy soft. If you are on the fence with these, go ahead and jump. You have nothing to loose with mephisto and Zappos

Silly me, no wonder I liked this color combination. I'm returning them because I bought the same model last year.

This is the 15th pair of Helen sandals that I’ve bought. Whenever my plantar fasciitis flairs up, these are the perfect fit.

I like this style and material. I have several pairs. For me the coloring was too dark, otherwise this is a great sandal. I chose another pair.
