Fits great and helps regulate temperature. I pretty much live in this vest now and my only regret it that I didn't get it earlier.

The Atom SL Vest is an essential part of my wardrobe! It is lightweight, trim fitting, works as a standalone item as well as a layering piece. I've received several compliments and inquiries as to what it is and where they can get one for themselves. Easily one of the top 3 items I wear and love!

When I first opened the package I thought this won't do. It is so thin. But after wearing it a few times it's perfect for me and the right amount of warm. I tend to get warm easily and then cold so this works perfectly on the trail or around the house. It's very light and packable and the lower fit past my hips is flattering with the right amount of stretch. It pairs perfectly with my hiking pants that have a lower rise.

I use this vest for biking as well as for leisure wear. I love it for its lightness but also its capability of keeping me warm due to its light insulation.

Nice fitting vest. I have the delta light fleece in medium, and bought this in medium. Slightly tight across the chest, but ok with the stretchy sides. Vest is lightweight, packable, but warm enough for the in between seasons. I wear under my nodin jacket (sized up in that). It is perfect for in spring and fall. I am very happy with it.

I absolutely love this vest. I suffer from chronic back pain and migraines, which my circulatory system is affected by; and I have been looking for the past few winters for a vest that's a combination of lightweight, extremely warm, but versatile and I finally found it in the Atom. The vest, I previously owned, before purchasing the Atom became constrictive and uncomfortable after a few hours of wear, which contributed to on setting my migraine cycles; but the stretchy design at the sides of the Atom provides freedom, in movement and comfort. Thank you so much for this thoughtful design.

Bought this jacket for summer hiking and mtb to provide a bit of core warmth that was breathable. During summer I appreciated that it was nice and light but had pockets to carry my phone and stuff without having to shove them in a jeans or leggings pocket. I'm surprised that I continued to use it during fall and into winter because it layers so nicely under everything. I love that there's no hood as I often find I have too many layers with hoods and they all start stacking up and getting annoying. It's also nice to wear while driving or in the office as a little bit extra. I wish there was a lifestyle version of this (and the Atom LT vest) with a small, subtle logo and neutral shades so I could get away with wearing it more. Maybe even a longer version, specifically for those of us that hike/mtb in leggings who want a bit of coverage that isn't restricting. Overall, I'm so happy I got this!

I love this piece and can't believe I waited so long to purchase it! So far I've only used this vest for trail running, but have been impressed with the warmth it provides for my core. I find it helps me maintain an ideal body temperature in cool to cold conditions. I bought it a size smaller than my Atom SL jacket to layer on super cold days. I can't wait to use it for cross country skiing (if the snow decides to show up).

Great vest that can be worn shopping or hiking and looks awesome. Warmer than you would suspect from the thickness and the blue colour is a great neutral that can be worn with anything. Longer length is great on colder days.

I always take the Atom SL Vest in my hydration vest when I hike or run in the mountains. It provides the perfect amount of warmth and wind protection in the cool shady spots. It folds down so small and is so light weight that I never know I am carrying it. I love the trim styling and flattering cut so much that I often use it at work instead of a sweater or scarf. The pockets are amazingly large and accommodate my phone (iPhone 8 Plus). I purchased the Black Sapphire color which is a beautiful deep navy with a hint of violet. XS fits me well, like all other Arc'teryx tops, and is comfortable over any but the bulkiest of tops.

I loved this vest so much that I bought 2. It's a perfect lightweight layer to put over a t-shirt, light hoodie, or performance base layer. The sides are stretchy, which helps with the fit and with movement. And the length is perfect - just over the hips, with drawstrings to personalize the fit. The only issue I have is that the outer layer is a bit fragile. Mine was scratched very easily on a bush branch while doing yard work (there are no large holes, but there are smaller ones along the main scratch line).

I've been using this vest as a mid layer ice & winter alpine climbing. I appreciate staying warm without the added bulk around the shoulders that mid layers can generate when worn under a heavier shell. The trim fit through the torso helps limit bulk around my harness. It breaths well, and I rarely feel wet from sweating during more aerobic parts of the day. I love pockets, and this 3!

Purchased a similar vest about 4 years ago in black which has become a staple for spring, fall, and often the summer. Great to have found another basic colour of navy or 'black sapphire' as listed. Works well with jeans. Washes beautifully, easily packable, always retains its shape. Thanks for another great product.

I use vests regularly to keep warm on early morning runs, or when giving project burns in the cold. I have found that this vest keeps me really warm, surprisingly so because it is so light. From a technical standpoint I would give this vest 5 stars, from an aesthetic standpoint, it is a bit loose fitting at the bottom, but does have a drawstring adjustor that makes it really easy to customize fit.

Love everything about the Atom vest except the pocket zippers. With the additional zipper pulls (which I removed) there is a "tassel effect" at chest level. The zipper tabs still provide a distraction. The pocket zippers should have been sewn in the opposite way so they are in the closed position nearer my hips.

I'm loving this vest! Have worn it 4 times in the first week of owning it, and find it super comfortable. Perfect in the house if I don't want to turn up the heat, and a great layer outside, under raincoat or down sweater. I'll get lots of use out of this one. Hope Arcteryx will make one in the blue/teal color!

Super disappointed in the color - turns out black sapphire is navy blue, not black. Bummer. Also disappointed in the length - I'm 5'7" 112lb and got the xs. The fit is good except it rides really high, likely leaving an exposed spot on my lower belly. It's a good quality product, but between the unexpected blue color and the shortness, not sure it's worth the money.

Verified PurchaseReview for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Arc'teryx seems to have completely changed the Atom SL material and cut. This vest is MUCH thinner than my old one that I've nearly worn out. There is no loft at all. It's super thin and would be useless for the things I use the vest for (downhill and cross country skiing and cold and cool weather running). No amount of fluffing it gives it any loft as far as I can tell. The vest also has no shape to it; it seems to be just cut straight while my older one seems to have a more feminine cut. I'm extremely disappointed and sad. I will have to be more careful with my fraying old one. This new one is going straight back to Zappos.
