Everything about this boot is great! Except one thing, the little tab for pulling on the boot at the top ripped off the first time I put on the boot. It was the actual material of the tab that ripped not the stitching so I cut it off and continued to wear

I ordered, and received, my second pair of these boots. Overall they are great. Out of the box comfort at its best! They are waterproof up to about 2" from the top of the boot due to the top of the tongue being separated from the rest of the boot. Which is good for stepping in a deep puddle. Much more than that the water is going over the top of the boot anyways. As a K9 handler I've been practically swimming in these boots. That being said, they dry out quickly (overnight) and are usually ready to go by the next shift. The loops to help you get your foot into the boot are sewn sturdy at the bottom but are flimsy at the top. Both have broken on my last pair and im wondering why they haven't changed this yet. I can't be the only one with this problem. The last pair lasted about 8 months before one of the soles started to squeak every time i took a step, gradually making me go insane, hence why I ordered a second pair. Aside from the annoying squeak and broken loops they still fit and feel great, but are showing typical signs of wear. They are in better shape than many of the other boots I've worn and only got about 6 months out of. The insoles are good, typical for a standard boot insoles. In about 3 months I'll replace them with Dr. Scholls work insoles or something similar.
Overall, a solid boot for the money. Ive also heard from friends the customer service with Merrell is second to none but have not had to contact them myself.

Purchased these boots less than a year ago. By far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. I have plantar fasciitis horrible and these boots are just what I needed. I was a little skeptical about the price at first but you can't put a price in comfort. Only issue I had was the glue started to pull from around the toe area after being about 9 months old. 1 call to customer service, spoke to some nice people and sent a photo of the boots. 5 min later I get an email that a new pair is on the way. I couldn't ask for better customer service. Looking forward to the arrival of my new pair. Thanks again guy !

I have had these boots for a while now. They are very comfortable wearing for up to 16 hours at a time. The only problem I have with them as a tactical boot, is they are very slippery when on wet floor. This poses a problem when in a setting that has the potential to have wet floors constantly. I can't count how many times I have almost slipped with these boots.

Poor SupportGreat Support
The fit and size felt perfect. The amount of support in the boot was perfect. However, the boots gave me blisters on the top of my feet and the zipper on the side cut into my ankle and left some scabbing and blisters there. To add to the discomfort, there was a part of the boot that was always folding and poking like metal into the top part of my ankle. If it wasn't for the blisters I would have given this product a 5-star and kept them but unfortunately I will have to return these

Very high quality build. Better for smaller feet. Arch placement and height off too much to be comfy for my feet. Wife loves hers.

The boot fits and feels great, but is not a good summer boot. I bought it in July in 80 degree weather and my feet were burning by the end of the day. Some of the light Merrel patrol boots may be better.

The boots feel like sneakers they are light and comfortable out of the box. They can be polished which makes them cleaner looking than the regular Moab 2 Tactical boots.
Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was there was an irregular stitch at the zipper of the left boot which caused a cut on my leg. Once I trimmed it the boots were great.

This boot had good and bad qualities. The side zipper made getting dress out super fast and allowed a nice good secure fit for the shoe. The boot was also not too bad in weight for running. The height was great for ankle protection and stability for the aspects of my job. The down sides.. it quickly began to show wear, the rubber began and to lift, water intrusion started coming from the bottom of the boot and it was definitely not waterproof.

I'v had these boots a bit over a year now and they have worked out well. Easy in, easy out. They have good traction and good support. I bought these boots because they were "waterproof". Didn't want wet feet. These boots were only tested once for waterproof and they failed. We were dispatched to a fallen hiker on the Appalachian Trail. The boots did good as far as the hiking goes. It was foggy, windy and raining. My feet were soaked from just hiking in the rain. The upper and lower portions of the boots were wet inside and out. I plan to see what Merrell will offer since I'm not the only one who has had this issue with their waterproof boots.
I would give the non- waterproof version a 5 star rating. I was very happy with these boots until I found out they were not so waterproof. Sadly disappointed.

I have been using these boots for about 4 months. I love how comfortable they are, they don't get too hot and they don't let your feet get cold when you are in cold conditions. The "but" is that the outsole is already separating from the leather. These boots take a shine very well and fit very well. My only complaint is the outsole separating from the leather so much that debris is being caught between the toe and the outsole. Other than that, these are amazing boots.

Purchased these as a new pair of summer duty boots. I wear shoe size 11.5-12 in all other shoes and boots including Merrell. These were huge on my foot. I would likely wear closer to 10.5. My other issue is that they are very hot. After wearing for 15 min while sitting on my couch my foot was already sweating. I returned them for a smaller size that I will

2nd pair of Merrell work boots. I've had these on for 4 days and they are so slick. I slip on everything, especially metal. I was walking down the pier to work earlier and I slipped on concerts. I don't get it. I wouldn't buy these unless you're on dirt 99% of the time

I bought these boots a couple months ago. They're high quality boots and haven't had any factory defects. They're just so warm. My feet sweet constantly in these things. If you have to be on your feet for hours I'd suggest a more breathable boot

Out of the box one of the most uncomfortable boots I've ever owned. It's like there are little pressure points throughout the boot. They have gotten a little better with time, but merrell needs to go back to the drawing board with these things. 5.11 ATAC's are 10x more comfortable than these things. I only give it 2 stars because they do seem to actually be waterproof.

Comfortable and seems well built. Unfortunately the boot is built more like a winter boot than a patrol boot. The boot is thick and traps heat, making them unbearable in the desert climate I patrol. They'll unfortunately be collecting dust until I decide to move to a colder climate.

I love Merrell shoos and I was excited to find these work boots. I am on my feet all day, 10 hours minimum on concrete mostly indoors, not on some intense construction or lumber yard. at first these boots were wonderfully comfortable however that one lasted a few months. I am most disappointed about the construction. within the first week one of the pull tabs ripped off, these are essential for pulling on such a large boot. luckily my hand sewing skills are more durable then Merrell's machine stitching and I fixed the problem. all of the stitching on these boots I consider mediocre quality. soon the rubber toe caps started to unstitch and come off. now the interatrial lining in one of the boots is loos and bunches up when I try to remove my foot. in order to remove the boot I need to stuff my hands inside and shove the lining down with my finger tips to get my foot out. after a 12 our day this is the last thing I want to deal with as soon as I get home. I know all tools wear out but considering the price point on these boots the overall construction should be significantly better. but its not so I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

I have used Merrell hiking boots and shoes for over 12 years and have always been very happy. When I saw these boots I thought they would be great. I am in law enforcement and received my boots in January. I began wearing them in February and by June the sole and upper began separating on the right boot rendering the boots no longer waterproof. It is a shame because they were so comfortable. The boots were not abused and only used for work. The sole on the right boot began to separate where the boot bends between the ball of the foot and the big toe.
I am disappointed at the durability of this boot. I really expected great things. Before the sole separated the boots performed great in all kinds of weather.

I bought these boots in November. I've been wearing boots almost exclusively for over 25 years. These are the absolute worse boots I've ever had. The tongue never stays put, the foot bed is uncomfortable, and after 3 months, one of the cheap plastic eyelets snapped off. At least this gives me the reason I need to replace them.

Broke upon first attempt to lace up the boots, due to either bad materials or bad design of the eyelets.

I purchased this boot at the same time I purchased a matching "civilian" style of boot. This is no way the same. No support, no cushioning. Looks like the took their cheapest boot, painted it black, added velcro, called it "tactical" and overpriced it.
