This shoe has pros and cons but the pros won out. Cons: the velcro strap only has about 1/4 inch of adjustment due to the design and the rubber soles appear rigid (but they don't feel that way). Pros: shoe is roomy, airy & deep enough for my insoles. Note that I have a very narrow foot that is also thin from top to bottom. Danskos only fit when I add my insoles. But this shoe fits so well that I fear that anyone with a normal foot width will find this shoe too narrow. I wore them for 4 days & had no break-in pain. Though the rubber soles look rigid they never once slipped on dusty hardwood floors, marble, etc. but they do make clunky sound when walking.

I love the style. But I had to send them back because they're too narrow (I ordered a medium width, size 10).

These are really cute shoes and work well with a narrow foot. I think they would be cute with dresses or jeans, but they just don't have enough arch support for me. I was so hopeful that they would work, but they aren't supportive and cushioned enough for my bony foot.

Too narrow. They were cute, but my foot looked pretty large in them and they were too narrow. They immediately rubbed against the sides of my feet. If you have a little wider foot, I would try a different shoe.

I ordered the size 41 because I usually wear a 10.5 to 11 and thought it would be perfect. Wrong! It was just a tad short but fit well in all other respects (width, support, toe room) so I tried the 42, which was too big. I don't know why shoe manufacturers feel compelled to make everything bigger when going up one size, when all they really need to do is make the next size a little longer. If I needed more width, I would have ordered the wide width...

TL;DR: Reader, I kept them - but wish I hadn't First, the positive side: My experience shopping with Zappos was great. I was searching for shoes for a trip and ended up ordering and returning many pairs before keeping these. As always, Zappos makes the shopping and return process very easy. Now for the not-so-positive side: I am new to the Dansko brand, having always thought they were clunky clodhoppers, but have been pleasantly surprised by the new designs they are coming out with so decided to give them a try. I didn't know how their sizes fit, so tried the 41 first (because I usually wear a 10.5 to 11 in most brands). That size was just a tad short but fit in all other respects, so I thought the 42 would be perfect. Wrong! When I received the 42s they were not only longer but wider as well. I was on the fence about them, because they were on the verge of being too big, but I was desperate for comfortable casual shoes to take on a trip so I took a chance and kept them. I did wear them around my house for probably an hour while I did chores, vacuuming, laundry, etc, just to see how they would feel while walking around, and they seemed like they might be okay. Unfortunately that was not enough of a real-world experience. So I wore them the day we traveled, which means some walking through the airport but mostly sitting on the plane, and regretted it. They rub the back of my foot, on my Achilles' tendon. I was hoping that might soften up, but didn't take the chance of wearing them while walking around NYC on my trip because blisters are no fun. So now I'm stuck with an expensive pair of casual shoes that I may be able to wear during the winter with socks, even though Mary Jane style shoes with socks is not my favorite look, just to justify having them in my closet. This shoe is absolutely TERRIBLE! It felt good when I initially put it on. Once I began using it, I noticed that my feet and legs became increasingly sore until I could no longer bear to wear these at all! I also tried a number of insoles to see if that would correct the problem to no avail. save your money! I wish I had, but now I am out $90 + the money for 3 different insoles! What a waste...
