I've got a collection of the original Hurricane XLT's that I love, so when I saw the photo of this multicolored (mostly purples with some chartreuses, and a two-tone neutral sand sole) gem I bought it online from Teva (along with a more mundane XLT2 and a clearance-sale XLT). My first reaction when I tried it on was, huh? Why doesn't feel like the older shoes? The size is the same but the straps and soles are just a little too short! I walked around the house with them and decided I couldn't live with them, they didn't feel right. So I immediately requested online return slips for both this one and the other (the black-and-gray-and-white version). However -- these were really gorgeous shoes. Visually stunning shoes. So I put off sending them back for a few days, and then tried them on again -- wore them for more than an hour, just walking around the house. Guess what? I got used to them! I can't explain it. So I decided to keep them after all. THEN - a few days later - I did the same with the other XLT2 pair, and (no surprise) I got used to them also. I've been wearing them occasionally ever since then. I've been wondering if I need to inform TEVA that I won't be using the personalized return slips after all. Because I'm keeping them!

Unfortunately, this size 6 did not fit me comfortably. Some do and some do not. So I returned them and greatly appreciate the free shipping and free returns.

I have only owned one pair of Teva sandals in the past. I don't know what model I wore, but they were very comfortable and supportive. My puppy chewed my old sandals, so I ordered this pair online. I recommend trying on all footwear before buying, however. The Hurricane sandal is sturdy with good tread. They are heavier, wider, and less comfortable on the soles of my feet (due to texture) than my previous Teva sandals. So far, I have only worn these sandals inside our home. I will wear socks with these in Kenya this month, but I would like to wear these sandals without socks here in the U.S.A. I have confidence that these sandals will last through many outdoor adventures for years to come. I hope my feet get used to them when I wear them more.

I have worn these shoes now for 7 years. I bought some from Payless back in 2016. I loved them. I wore them almost every day of my life for every event. Beach, swimming, mud riding, jet skiing, boating, hiking, everyday wear, etc. I put them through the wringer. After 7 years, I had to get a new pair, ONLY because the VELCRO went bad. Let's go back to last year. June 2024 I bought another pair, same kind, for myself on my birthday. I don't do nearly as much water sport or activities as I used to, but from June 2024 to now I've had to buy another pair. After 3 months of owning them, the sole on BOTH shoes were separating. I glued them twice, only for it to keep coming undone. I now have one shoe that's soulless, and one that will be soon. Anyways, this July 2025 I just bought another pair. I love the shoe. Everything about it. The durability has obviously gone downhill, which is sad, because (again) these are the only shoes I wear.

I like the security I feel but the Velcro and the insole are very rough for my senior feet.

I purchased these after much research and seeing at Miranda Goes Outside (YouTube) recommended these I definitely thought they would be good for me. I can't seem to get comfortable in them yet. I e had them for about a month now. I get blisters on my heels and the ankles are either too tight or just not comfortable. I am a nature-based preschool teacher and I absolutely cannot run after kids in these without twisting an ankle, but if I'm just sitting in the sand they are okay. I'm going to keep working with them but that's my feelings for now.

From the first moment that I tried these on, I realized that the sole was too stiff to be comfortable. I wanted to like these since I've been buying and wearing Tevas for decades.

These sandals looked too wide and seemed more appropriate for a man’s foot. The style was not attractive on my feet even though they were only purchased for walking the beach. Sent back and will try another style.

I really like the look and support of these sandals, however the ring near my small toe pinched so badly, I couldn't stand to wear them. Sadly, had to return

I'm replacing a 10-year old pair of Tevas and these aren't going to work for me. The heel strap sits super low on my heel, and it won't stay up no matter how tight I adjusted the strap. But when you make the heel strap too tight it pushes your foot forward so my toes were hanging off the sandal. I had to make all the straps extremely tight just to get my foot to stop sliding forward or the heel strap to fall down. That won't work for me because I will be going downhill in these and can't have my feet sliding forward everytime. The soles are too soft for my needs too. It feels like gel foam almost. I also think these may be the least attractive sandal I've ever tried. How they look would be irrelevant if they fit my foot but I just can't even wear them casually.

Just received my latest pair and was extremely disappointed to find you must be trying to save money by making the straps considerably thinner. Sad, because due to neuropathy, I wear Tevas all the time. Not nearly the support with these thin straps. Shame on you, Teva!

I have had these sandals for less than a year and have sung their praises high and low encouraging my husband and my father to purchase a pair. They are extremely comfortable and feel secure on my narrow feet. Despite taking them on one hike (where they were not my primary shoe) and casual wear in warm months: I noticed today that both soles are separating. I will try to glue them back together and would consider purchasing another pair because I love the comfort but if you're looking for a sandal that will last: these are not it. I see other reviewers have had this same issue: seems that the quality has gone down hill over the years which is a shame.

The arch strap on the top of the foot between each ankle is very uncomfortable because the material is ribbed and rough. It also has the shoe ID label on the underside adding to the roughness. I'm thinking of returning them but I need sandals for a trip. I'm disappointed.

I like to use them when I go to the river, the beach or walking around town. Very comfortable fit, guess the water unglued the bottom after a few uses. Took it to a shoeperson to get fixed and was an easy solve. But gets minus stars for coming undone.

I loved these sandals but unfortunately after very mild use the soles have fallen off both shoes. My husband and I both have a pair and he complains that the straps take forever to dry once wet. Just expected them to last more than a year and a half. Super disappointing.

These sandals are super comfortable and look good with casual wear. I can wear them all day while traveling with no issues. Unfortunately, the sole has fallen off of all three pairs I have owned. My most recent pair lasted a bit more than a year. My husband had the same experience with his pair. We do live at the beach so need to rinse sand of the sandals regularly so I am not sure it that is the issue. But, the sandals are not worn out in any other way and probably would have several more years of life if not for the soles !

I have been buying this style for as long as I can remember (20+ years). These are my go to sandals for kayaking, camping and kicking around. I recently replaced them and was disappointed with the webbing choices. They used to have beautiful designs for women in many color scheme options but now I find the choices boring or not that great looking.

Bought the beige & white color. Female. normally size 6.5 ordered 7 as .5 sizes weren't an option. Looked pretty unattractive in person from a top view. Kinda reminded me of a bandaid or flesh toned bandage wrap. Even my husband said "Eww. Why'd you buy those? I think they're for old people after foot surgery." Maybe the color blended in with my skin tone too much. Straps a bit bulky. I had nearly 1/2 inch overhang after my straps were secured that kinda just stuck out and had a sharp edge. I have narrow heels and skinny ankles so I felt I had to tighten straps a lot & the straps were too long for me. The soles did feel secure and comfy. I returned them so I can't speak to comfort & durability over time.

This was my first time trying this brand, and I was super excited! I tried these on at a store and loved the look! They are lightweight, and the hard sole gives great support for potential rough trails. I was shopping for a comfortable hiking sandal out of this style but unfortunately, after walking around my apt, I realized that the design on the sole was pinching the bottom of my feet. It also gave a burning sensation, not sure if I may have been sensitive to the material. I wish they wouldn't have had those grooves, otherwise I may have considered keeping them. After initiating my return, I read some of the reviews and it seems like other people were also disappointed by this. Perhaps a flaw? If I come across a smooth bottom sole, I may purchase again!

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The sandals are extremely cute, stylish and for the most part, comfortable. However, I do not think they are good hiking sandals and definitely not for water-related activities. They take a long time to dry, and rub/chafe the tops of my feet. They are very adjustable, however still rubbed in all of the wrong places on a mild-moderate hike. After a white water raft excursion where we were in the boat the whole time, I had blisters rubbed into the top of my foot. So 5 stars for style/color/adjustability but 2 stars for practicality/comfort. Good for mild wear but nothing much more strenuous than that.
