I had no chance to break in this Shoe, and I wore it the first time for a Double Shift, and it was quite Comfortable! So that part seems Great! I did have an Issue with the Color though.. I did not have the Luxury of Time to return them, as I needed to wear them for Work right away.. I thought I was getting a "BLACK" pair of Shoes, since the Name was "Black Slate" .. These are NOT BLACK! Brown Laces, with an off Brown Color Shoe.. I had to Use Black Shoe Polish to make them Okay for My Work Bistro Uniform, then sprayed them with Weather Proofing.. I guess I will be Polishing them a Lot, not what I really had in mind... Don't understand why they would have a misleading name.. The actual Rock named Slate is Black..

Great shoes for work or casual. I have plantar fasciitis and these have great arch support for that.

Style is great. Comfort would be top notch if it weren't for rubbing on the outer ankle and back where the top seam meets above the heel. Even when wearing thicker athletic socks, these created abrasions where I needed to apply band-aids. I'm optimistic that with some wear, the harder seams around the topline where the shoe's edge meets the leg/ankle will soften. There seems to be some kind of harder inside seam that's enough to cause irritation, but even after wearing for three days, it's still a problem. I walk a lot, but I've not had such problems with other shoes. I've owned Merrell's before and really like them, so I hope this improves, or they improve the design for future versions of what is otherwise great styling for casual to business casual wear.

They look really good and feel great right out of the box. The leather seems to be very good quality and the shoes seem to be well made and still light weight. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

The shoe fit my 4E wide feet fine. The problem was the black colorant transfers to other items, like to the paper in the shoe box and my fingers. This might a a great shoe in brown.

Very comfortable casual shoe. Seems well made. Too big for me. I wear an 11 1/2 or 12 depending on the shoe. I ordered these in 12, should have been 11 1/2. Even though they were too big for me, I would say they run true to size.

Great shoe. Great fit. Exceptionally comfortable. In my own experience, at any rate, impossible to beat for walking. Buy it.

Great shoe. Great fit. Nice arch support. I always use inserts, but haven’t had to yet with these shoes. Comfortable right out of the box. Very substantial and supportive shoe, but still very light.
