I got these shoes a couple of months ago. I've worn Merrell's for years and have loved how comfortable they are for long walks and hikes. I was excited about this new style and when I got them, they fit like a glove and looked great. But I've found that they just aren't up to the usual Merrell standards. Even in short distances (2 - 3 miles), my feet end up achy. Now I'm sad that I spent so much money for shoes that I can only wear for short distances.

I've always had good luck with Merrells, but unfortunately that ended with these. They change the way you walk in a bizarre and uncomfortable way, I think partly because the heel is made to be lower than the rest of the foot, almost like those awful earth shoes from the 70s, I'm told. There is no cushioning. I can't walk normally in them. Just weird. You're not supposed to wear socks, and they make your feet sweat a bit when you wear them inside, even in winter. Not cheap, I will not be wearing them ever again, a mistake.

I am in love with everything about this shoe EXCEPT... I cannot get them on. There is no loop in the back to keep the flexible heel from collapsing. Maybe I have a wider foot and that is making it difficult for me? I really want to keep these but unfortunately have to be returning them for a different shoe. They are comfortable, lightweight, have support, fit perfect when I finally got them on and love the idea of no laces. However the no laces and the band on the back make them difficult to impossible to get on my foot.
