I bought these to use in my Senior Softball League. They have great traction and stability while running and that is so important for older softball players like me. Two other players in my league have also bought the same shoes. There weren't any shoes in my size so I ordered the woman's shoe only instead of a men's 9 1/2 I ordered a woman's 10 1/2 and they fit great.

I did tons of research for a SwimRun shoe, and ended up buying a different brand. BIG MISTAKE! My feet were chewed up by the other brand's shoe, and I then ordered a pair of Hoka EvoJawz. What a difference! Fantastic product!

I have been training for a swim run race and these shoes have been great on trails and when wet. Size feels roomy in width initially but is great with different surfaces and longer runs. Very happy with these shoes

I wore these in an ultra with a ridiculous amount of mud and a lot of elevation gain - super steep hills up and down. The lugs are probably the only thing that stopped me from rolling off the cliff. They are also super light which is much appreciated.

these shoes are by far the best trail shoes i could ever imagine, and i will be buying several more pairs. I hope they never retire this shoe. I need a low profile show and the 3 mm drop is great. they power through any terrain and i never have to fear slipping or sliding on slippery, mucky, or any conditions bc the sole has a super aggressive grip. I will never take any other shoe to a trail ever again. these are legit, these are it.

I run on New England single track trails -- lots of ups and down, rocks, roots, mud, stream crossings, etc. These are among my favorite shoes over at least the past decade. They are very light and responsive with great feel for the trail and outstanding grip on everything I have hit so far. The key negative, as others have noted, is that they have a problem with the blue dye on the tongue. It will dye your socks and even your feet blue! I'm surprised they haven't corrected that problem yet, given all the reviews that have noted it. Also, coming from Altra King MTs., the toe box seems a bit tight, but not enough so to be a problem for me. I hope they keep this shoe around for a long time, and fix the blue dye problem quickly (an announcement from Hoka on this forum would be nice).

I absolutely love the EVO Jawz! I am mainly a Torrent wearer, with the occasional Speedgoat thrown in (depending on the terrain). Ran 11 miles out of the box this morning. Had a blast. Digs in. Super responsive, yet softer than I imagined. Not "plush," but definitely not hard as a rock. Honestly, it reminded me of my Torrents, with the different upper. Love it love it love it. Definitely adding this one to the lineup!

This is the second pair of these shoes I have ordered. The first pair, while the same size, are a little tight so I was happy that this pair came in offering a tad more room. I still need to wear very thin socks though. My normal size is 7.5 but in this shoe the 7 is better. I run agility with my dogs so run short sprints with lots of turns - this shoe has good lateral support, and is not too bulky - which is ideal for my needs.

I bought these for Spartan Races after trying NUMEROUS brands and styles searching for relief from IT Band issues. (I know...it's not just the shoes...but these have helped!)
My only complaint, as another reviewer mentioned, is that the lugs are too aggressive for netting and tend to get stuck if you aren't careful about foot placement. My other little niggle is that they aren't helpful on wet slip walls. They don't hurt you either, but that's the one place I've felt a little slip from the shoe. Otherwise, I LOVE these shoes! I'm not the best downhill runner (or uphill for that matter!) but I've never felt more comfortable running downhill than in these shoes. I've run desert and mountain races thus far in these shoes and I always feel confident that the tread will hold the ground. I have another Hoka trail shoe and a pair of Soloman's with less aggressive tread and have had both shoes slide out on me; not the Evo Jawz! In fact, I credit these shoes with improving my downhill running since I can focus on form vs worrying about foot placement on loose terrain.
Yes, my socks were tinged blue after our first race, but it added a nice effect with the mud brown, AND it washed out. Buy some black socks and buy the shoes!

Bought this shoe for running OCR races. I needed a shoe that was light weight, had good grip, and good cushion for absorbing he impact from running trails and obstacles. Ran my first race with this shoe and it performed excellent! I've tried many shoes, and I finally found the shoe that is the perfect one for all my running needs.

I absolutely love these shoes. I ran 34 miles in an April blizzard that went from pouring rain to whiteout conditions. The trail was trashed, but these shoes took me up and down steep hills without a slip. The fit is perfect, snug with just enough room for the toes without being sloppy. The sole is thin and flexible with just enough protection against roots and rocks. The only con is that my socks are now blue. I am hoping hoka makes a hard trail version of this shoe as well.

Only one issue. The blue color bleeds into the socks that I wear.

I purchased these for my Spartan race I needed to get a trail shoe that would be more supportive than the pair I had with the same grip and would let the water run out
I have other Hoka shoes and I love them, I have a ton of arthritis in my feet so they always hurt, but these shoes were actually a game changer for me on this race. My feet felt great the whole time until I hit the water, it didn't seem like they drained well, the water stayed in the bottom longer than my Spartan shoes but over all I loved them, totally worth the money!

I love my new Hoka Evo Jawz when it comes to running on sandy trails-they're lightweight and have great traction, which is why I purchased them. However, when your feet sweat, the shoes get discolored and turn your feet blue. I knew this was going to happen as two of my friends have them and their feet turn blue when they wear them too. Not sure why they only come in this bright blue color but I bought them anyway because they are terrific shoes. I really wish Hoka could do something about the blue dye coming off. They're expensive and look pretty bad after wearing them only once.
P.S. I purchased them in 1/2 size smaller than my Brooks, which is what the website sizing guide recommended and they fit great.
