These shoes are awesome! If you or your child wear orthotics of any kind, this is the brand for you (BILLY makes adult sizes, too). We got the high tops with zippers. My daughter wore DAFOs for years, I wish we had these then. She still wears ankle braces, and the braces fit perfectly in the shoes (see pics). The insides are flat, but cushioned, to accommodate orthotics, which is awesome - no more tearing out the insole to make room. The zippers make it super easy for her to put on and take off by herself, which is a big boost to her independence. I read about the company on their website and was impressed. Hope they keep making shoes!

I bought these for my 9 year old son who wears hinged leg braces. They are so incredibly easy to put on. Typically its so difficult to find a shoe that works. The zipper makes it so simple to get the heel all the way to the back of the shoe. I ordered several sizes bigger than he wears, but they fit the braces perfectly.

Fit was great, but the key feature is the zip around the front of the shoe that makes it easy to get on and easy to get off. Grandson loves these shoes.

These shoes were recommended by a physical therapist to wear with AFOs. They are great. My daughter loves them. Thinking of getting a pair of the low top shoes as well.

Best shoe for my 11 yr old son! First pair of shoes he is able to put on by himself. Shoes fit perfect over his AFOs. Usually had to buy extra wide shoes to fit over his AFOs, but these fit perfect. Highly recommend!

My daughter is very picky about shoes and socks and she LOVES these shoes because she can zip them open and quickly zip them closed. They wear really, really well. We’ve had four or five pairs and every single one has been great!

This shoes are great for SMOs braces, my daughter wears them very well. In order to make this style an excellent shoe is to definitely improve the bottom outer sole. It is too flat, it needs more grip to handle all type of floors and outdoors

My son loved being able to put his own shoes on over his AFOs. However, the shoes wear down fast and had a hole completely through the bottom within two months. The red also bleeds through onto socks when they get wet. Too expensive to replace every two months. Hope they fix the quality.

I really want to love these shoes. My 3 year old wears them with his SMOs, and is so proud of them that he goes around asking everyone if they love his "new red shoes." They come up at just about the same height as his SMOs, which will be nice in the summer so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. I love that they zipper, and he can put on his shoes himself, even with the braces. We didn't have to take the insole out to accommodate the braces, either. Just had to widen the laces a tiny bit. My problem with them is they are not durable. He's had them for 3 (winter) months, and to be fair, wears them about 80% of his waking hours. He wears snow boots outside when needed. And these shoes already have holes in the bottom, and the cloth has come away from the zipper in the front toe area. The SMOs started wearing holes through the canvas, and I covered them with red duct tape about 6 weeks into wearing them. He is also not a very active child, so I'm not sure how they would work on a typical kid. For the price point, I was definitely hoping for a more durable shoe. BUT, he loves them, they're super cute, and he can put them on. So I'm torn about if I will repurchase them. I have not reached out to Billy to see if this wear is typical.

Sole fell apart after less than a month of wear (bought 7/17/18). Bought these for my active 7 year-old who really thought the zippers were cool. Was unfamiliar with brand but reviews were positive so went ahead with purchase. The sole fell apart after standard kid use. Don’t buy these for everyday wear if you have an active kid!
