I bought this bag for work – I'm a college instructor and need something fairly large to carry a lot of file folders (at least a ream's worth of papers), sometimes a book or two, a water bottle, and snacks. This bag is large enough for all that, which is great. The problems are: 1. It is one big compartment and doesn't have a flat bottom for it to stand on its own. This is a major flaw - it just flops down in a big pile of mush. 2. I personally would also like a vertical compartment/separator to organize files - even a laptop sleeve serves this purpose. If it were more structured or had a flat bottom, it could work without the extra compartment. I even debated buying a bag organizer for it, but have decided it isn't worth it. As far as looks - not ugly, but it has nothing going for it. Again, some structure would go a long way. I wouldn't recommend this for professional use.

Great bag for traveling - it’s waterproof, has lots of clever pockets and fit my laptop, iPad, water bottle, light sweater and other flight essentials in the main compartment. It has a practical and understated vibe, but it’s still presentable for business meetings. Also good for for sightseeing, although you might want to add padding to the crossbody strap if you’re carrying for the family....

This is slightly heavier than I expected for a cloth bag. Also, I wish that there were a big compartment across the interior of the bag (for a laptop) and that it had a pocket on the *side* for a bottle/mug. That all said, I'm very happy with the bag. I like the dark gray color (harder to find than one would expect), I like the shape (though it's maybe boxier than some others would like), and I like that it has several pockets. It's clearly casual, but I feel like it's nice enough to wear on my way to the office and also while I'm there. The RFID safety feature is a bonus. I'm looking forward to wearing it across all seasons.
