Why would I possibly return these gorgeous beasts? They are really a beautiful boot in person, so much richer looking than they show on the page, but... they are also VERY tall (I'm 5'7" with a 33" inseam) and the top of the boot is super wide. Uncuffed, the boots extended about 1/4 of the way up my thigh above my knee. Cuffed, they just looked silly on me due to the width of at the top and they still sat at the knee bend. They are truly a beautiful boot, but you're going to need some height to carry these off.

This boot is beautiful. The eyelets (studs) are much less noticeable in person and give an added dimension to an otherwise simple boot. The heel is comfy. The ankle a bit tight to get into but this boot is on par with other Vince Camuto boots. The shaft came up over my knee. I’m 5’6”. This boot will fit up to a 17” calf. I envisioned opening up the back center seam and puncturing the eyelets for lacing, to be able to wear this over my 17.25” calves with leggings for a costume. Zappos didn’t have my size (9) so I went one size down and though the toe fit fine, as I mentioned the ankle was just too tight. That being said, the 8.5 or 9 would have worked for me and I’m usually an 8.5 / 9 but with boots lately I’ve been sizing up to a 10 to fit socks. The suede is really dark - almost black. This makes the boot slightly harder to wear because it always looks off - either too dark to be grey or too light to be black. I think with other colors it’s perfect (lavenders, mauve, purples, coral). I’m showing it next to a Söfft boot that looked a bit cartoony online, but which I fell in love with in person. The Söfft is obviously much softer leather and more comfortable, with padded footbed. The VC is more of a fashion boot.

This is a wide calf boot......very attractive style and not cheap; problem is that even though the "calf" has an 17" circumference it is next to impossible to pull these bad boys up any further than about an inch below the knee. Mind you the front is supposed to cover the knee. The zipper is way too short to allow a wide-calved woman to be able to hike the boots up to where they belong. I tried. God knows I tried. They are already packed up and on their way back to Zappos. This boot can only benefit a person with a regular sized calf who wants to wear the boots over jeans........it's impossible for them to extend over the top of the calf. My guess is you'll be seeing these "remaindered" because of the poor fit.
