At first it felt like I needed to up 1/2 size but after a few runs it seems to be all good. Love the support and light weight.

Like most folks that are generally pretty active (climbing, lifting, running, etc.), I have a Litany of Foot Issues--with the top two being flat feet and bunions. My previous running shoes, which I loved, would still give me grief from both of those issues. Yet, trying both these and the Bondi 5s at the same time (mirroring both long and slow and motor skills development runs), these blew me away. They allow for forefoot splay; they keep my instep from feeling tender after long runs; they don't feel like cinder blocks on my feet; they don't cause my bunion(s) to flare up...they're just comfortable, high-performing running shoes. (Note: The Bondi 5 required me to tape up my instep to prevent rubbing due to just having a lower insole--IE, out of the box the Arahi 2 outperformed it, no modification then or now.)
IF ONLY THEY HAD A COMPARABLE TRAIL VERSION FOR THAT SWEET WIDTH--guess I'll have to stick to my Icebugs for now. If you're on the fence and worried about not finding wide-enough Hoka's, you need to give the Arahi 2 a try.

From owning one of the first pairs of Adidas Superstars 50 years ago, in my home town, to owning the Hoka Arahi, I've tried numerous brands and styles of shoes and the Hoka Arahi is without a doubt the best shoe I've ever owned.
I used to run a lot as a semi-pro soccer player, but now I just stand a lot on hard surfaces operating a camera for sporting events for ESPN, FOX, NBC, ATTSN and others so my requirements aren't the same as the runners that've commented here, but with a bad back, ankles and assorted other aches and pains, I needed a shoe that was cushioned and stable for long hours of standing and the Hoka Arahi provides those in aces.
As long as Hoka exists, I will never buy another brand of shoe.
BTW, love the color selection. I'm thoroughly sick and tired of gray, black and white shoes! It seems that the other brands are incapable of making shoes with colors, unless you're a woman...

This shoe has enabled me to shave 15 seconds off of my 2 mile run and has been the lightest shoe I've ever worn. I've traditionally ran in Brooks shoes, most notability the Beast. But the Beast is a heavy shoe and this shoe is the best shoe for runners in need to a stability shoe but don't want the heaviness of a tratitional stability shoe.

Got back into running last year and wanted a stability shoe (I over-pronate) that had good cushioning. My local running store suggested giving Hokas a try. I tried the Clifton 4s first but the toe box was too snug, so I then tried the original Arahis. Great shoe with ample cushioning. Used it for runs anywhere from 4-15+ miles. Only downside was poor color selection for those of us with wide feet -- I wear 2E. Anyway, after trying the Brooks Adrenaline 18s this winter I had to return them because they just didn't provide enough cushion. Was happy to find out that the Arahi 2s were released so I quickly ordered a pair. After my first full month or so with the shoe I could not be happier. Just a great all-around shoe for me be it for short 5-6 mile recovery runs or 15-20 mile long runs. They feel great and are actually more breathable than the originals (great for warmer weather although for cold run (less than 20 degrees F) you want to make sure you have warm socks. Although the colors are still limited for 2E widths, the black and blue look so much better than the black/gold Arahis, which reminded me more of an old trail shoe than a running shoe. I cannot say enough about these shoes. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

This is the best shoe for me. Light, well cushioned and really a great looking shoe. I didn't get them for over pronation, I just wanted to try them out and soo glad I did. Easy on a 5 k. Will try them on longer runs soon. I got the Niagara / midnight color.. awesome. I will buy another pair in case the next version isn't the same feel. I also want to try them on dry sand / beach. I think they'll be perfect for that. No mesh holes for sand to get in. Will let you know how they do.

I'm switching all my active footwear to Hokas, I've never known such comfort and cushioning through the whole shoe.

Turning 64 this year and training for a triathlon. I loved running but not so much anymore. I need to train and this shoe made me enjoy running again. Great shock absorption. Stable. A great ride. Who knew? Now you know.

I recently wanted to start back running, but I knew I had a bad left knee. A good friend of mine swore by Hoka shoes, and through process of elimination I determined the Arahi II were the shoes that fit my particular profile. I am a big guy of 320 lb at 5'10, so I was very particular about the shoes I needed to run in. Since I've been wearing these shoes I've gone from being able to run only one quarter of a mile till 3 weeks later being able to run a full two miles straight with no knee pain! The weight is coming off and I feel great! I feel like I used to feel when I ran track in high school and college 20 years ago!

Love the Arahi 2! Just enough cushioning for that Hoka plush feel and stabilizers that guide your foot through its natural gait. Perfect shoe for my daily runs.

This shoe is great I literally can take it out of the box and run 5-10 miles without needing to break them in.

I came down with plantar fasciitis in my right heel after logging 161 miles wearing Asics Kayano 24, a shoe I had given high marks to four years continuous. After discussing the Arahi 2 with friends who also run long distances, I was persuaded to give Hoka One One another shot. I have taken them out for a ride and was truly impressed. Still dealing with plantar fasciitis, but as usual with Hoka One One past experiences, a very comfortable ride.

Being an over-pronator, I have been hoping HOKA would start offering this type of shoe. In fact, I hope you can eventually have a motion control shoe.

I workout in a small group fitness environment 5 days / week. 2 days intense cardio 2 days aerobic weight training with boxing (heavy bag and glove pads) and every Saturday do what is appropriately called "mayhem"... an even more intense cross between the cardio and weight training days. I've always worn what I thought were high end athletic shoes (Nike, New Balance and Adidas). None compare with the fit, stability and cushion of the Ahrahi 2. Just ordered my active wife a pair as well!

Bought these to replace my first pair or Hoka one one shoes which have about 800 miles on them. These shoes fit my feet to perfection and the cushioning is the best I have experienced in my distance running days. Thanks for the great shoe option.

Heel feels like you might fall backwards, takes few min to get used to it, but others than that they are unbelievably comfortable!
P.S. I use mine for walking and light running.

I'm giving 5 stars because it is a Great Looking, comfortable Shoe. I will say it is tighter than a Nike but loosened up laces and all will loosen more in time. Also it makes a Club clicking noise(plastic sound) when you are on hard surface. It's the outer back pad on the sole. That to seems to be less and less as I wear them. I do not run in them so cannot comment more. Remind me a lot of my Old Nike Pegasus I had in the 80's(the sole that is)!
