I bought these shoes about 50 days ago and mesh fabric is already tearing in front of the laces over the big toe of each shoe. The "too small" theory is not valid in my instance as I always buy athletic shoes with plenty of room. Asics is the only athletic shoe I buy and I have always been satisfied with the quality of their product but this shoe is hands down the worst pair I have ever owned. I always recommend Asics to friends but this one will be exception.

Simply reiterating the seriousness of several of the above complaints: the mesh on the toe box of the right foot has totally disintegrated over the course of a few pretty moderate runs. Do not buy this shoe.

Bought these in March. Have had 50 runs for less than 200 miles and the tread is already worn out. The wear is similar to what I experience after 350 miles which is when I typically buy a new pair. The shoes lost are not as supportive as the prior model. I've been a loyal Asicis GT 2000 buyer for the last 6 years and typically go through 3 or 4 pair a year so I'm definitely disappointed in the new design.

Really bad update... I hate when Asics slips in an updated model that is really different from the previous versions. Not sure where to start...maybe at the bottom - these have a harsh ride and for some reason sound really loud striking the ground. The new lacing with the mid-foot straps make me over-tighten to try and get a snug feel, but all the pressure from the laces is then going through the two (new) strap-like things in the mid-foot. I feel like the product guys must have known this and then overcompensated with a really thick tongue. And without being able to get a snug fit I felt heel slippage. Really (REALLY) disappointed I dropped so much money on these and don't even wear them running anymore after only 2-3 weeks. Going back to the previous version. (Note: I've been running in the 2000 series for over twenty years and it seems every few years Asics feels the need to do this). This should have been a different model - it's not an upgrade.

Horrendous. I bought these online 4/30/18 and have worn them to work on casual Fridays. Both sneakers have torn on the top above the laces. I have probably work them a total of seven times.

I have been using GT 2000 since model 4. They kept getting better until this model, the 6. The mesh is not durable and breaks easily despite feeling rougher than previous models. I lost the toe nails (first time that happened) on my second toes after running a half marathon. The cushion is not as good as in model 4 or 5.

I bought these shoes Jan 25 2018 and in less than a month the upper mesh started separating and ripping. 60 days into the shoe both shoes completely blew out. Make sure you read the other reviews this is a very common issue. The shoes are defective.

I have been wearing GT-2000s for several years. I buy two pairs per year, and they have served me well. I bought a pair of GT-2000 6 in mid-January. After less than one month of use (10 miles per week), the upper on the left shoe is splitting. The right shoe is fine. It's disappointing. But maybe it's just a one-off problem with the shoe rather than the series.
