FYI. These shoes are not the color pictured. They are a very light almost tan color, no amber at all.

I always worry when buying shoes because I am wide width and have a hard time finding really nice shoes. Well these Ecco's take the cake. They fit prefect with the correct width in the correct places and are so comfortable to wear all day. Now buying more of these in different colors and styles to fill in my wardrobe.

There is nothing particularly wrong with this shoe in terms of construction. But I do think that Ecco has lost its sense of style. The shoe is a little clunky and runs a little large. The shoes look large on my feet even though I purchased the size that I have been wearing in Eccos for years. The lack of detail in the styling is more stark than it appears in photographs. You have a large area of smooth black leather, pretty much like a Wellington boot. I suspect that this is a demographic issue. Ecco, It think you have forgotten that not all of your fans are under forty. I'm in my sixties. I feel that Ecco has left me out of its design decisions.

I got these dress shoes as a gift for my adult son. He loves them! The first time he wore them was for a Christmas party in San Francisco. He walked about 2 miles from the parking lot to the hotel and then stood on them for 5+ hours. When he came home, he didn't take them off right away -- when asked about that he said, "Oh, I forgot I was wearing them" !!! WOW!!! They are very attractive shoes and obviously comfortable if you can forget you're wearing them after many hours of standing and miles of walking! We had to return the first pair for a half-size smaller because they seemed to run a little large.

This is still an Awesome shoe! I was trying to replace my a pair of Ecco Plain toe shoes (favorites) and while these Melbourne shoes come close, they don’t quite hit the mark. They are slightly clunky. Just a bit wider than the faro’s which gives them a less sleek appearance. They fit slightly wider than the faro’s. They have a purely synthetic sole and don’t have the “leather” appearance that the faro’s simulate, which makes the Melbourne’s slightly less dressy. With these minor detractors, they are still a great pair of shoes and will gladly use them until they wear out. I wish that Ecco would bring back the faro!

Unlike other ECCOs I have had over the years, these did not fit well at all. Way too narrow.

the leather is warped, the lace-holes are misaligned with the grommets...this feels like a $40 shoe

Size, fit and comfort were great. However, the leather upper leather got cut during normal use. Had to return the product

Disappointed in ECCO with this shoe. Should have trusted the other review that stated these run large; so ended up ordering the next smaller size. It must be the right size as it's too small. Having to return both and try again.
