The length of these are true to size, but they have a low front across the toes. At first my girls said they were way too tight. But after stretching the toes out with just my hands for a few minutes, they said the shoes felt good and they wore them around a bit to stretch them further. These are great shoes for school and have held up better than other brands that I have tried. My 1st grader wore one pair daily for the entire school year and the velcro was still in good shape and they didn't even really look scuffed. My kids tell me they are comfortable, and I appreciate the rubber soles, which don't get slippery. Well worth the money.

This shoe was purchased to be used as a "dressy" shoe. The overall quality indicates that it would stand up to every day use for something such as school. The velcro strap is helpful with a variety of fits. The shoe comes as a "medium" width. Since this girl needs a narrow fit (and narrow is something that is almost impossible to find especially in children's shoe)s, I purchased a insole to add to the shoe. It doesn't get a perfect fit but is definitely an improvement. A thicker orthotic or other type of insert would give someone with a narrow foot a better fit. If socks are worn, it would be fine. There is another model that had some sort of "elastic" in the edge of the shoe, this one does not and it doesn't cut into the top of the foot.

Got these for my daughter for a play she was in. She reports that they were comfortable, and felt like the right size.

The shoe is well made and comfortable, however the strap is too short. I have high arches so perhaps the strap would be fine for other feet. I took mine to a repair shop and had the strap repositioned so it would work for my feet. (I have a different pair of Hush Puppies in a similar style and the strap on those worked just fine for me.)

My daughter wears these as her uniform shoes at school, but she wears them every day for everything else also- hikes, bike rides, playing outside. They hold up incredibly well.

I purchased these at the start of last school year for my first grade daughter’s uniform shoe. She loved them out of the box. They held up beautifully with daily wear the entire school year, and this year she wants the same exact shoe again. She has a very narrow foot which is hard to fit as well as sensory issues, and these worked like a charm.

These are great school shoes. My daughter loves them and we buy a pair each year. They are well made but she’s heavy on shoes especially school shoes.

I have very wide but small feet. There weren’t any women’s shoes that were the right size and width so I ordered these shoes in a wide 3 1/2 in girls shoes. They fit great and look good.

I bought these for my 7 year old to wear with her school uniform. She loves them, says they are "super comfy" and noted that several other girls had the exact same shoes, which made them all very happy. They don't scuff easily, the quality is great, and they're very cute.

My daughter had these last year for school and they still look like new! We needed a new pair only because her feet grew! Very happy with the quality.

After searching and searching, I thought I had finally found a pair of shoes for my daughter. She's at that age where her foot is big but she's still a little girl. These shoes are cute and comfortable. She put them on to wear to school but as she walked around the house, she squeaked everywhere she went. Not just a little bit...a lot. So, back they go.

Great, my daughter has wide feet which is always a challenge but Zappos makes it easy and the Hushpuppies brand gives her enough support and comfort, even in dress shoes.
