Not true to size at all . Always get a Wide in every shoe I have ever bought. With few problems. Have bought MANY New Balance . On this style though ,the WIDE was too narrow. Exchanged for Xtra Wide. It was also too narrow and short also . Disappointing for New Balance . Specially since it messed up Christmas . Customer Service was excellent but product not true to size .

I think this shoe is beautiful but I have to return it unfortunately. I have a bunion and the forefoot /toebox area has a strap that hits right on my bunion. such a shame because otherwise it’s an elegant looking athletic shoe.

I should have listened to some of the other reviewers. Such a cute shoe, but stiff and uncomfortable. I got the wide, not because my foot is especially wide, but because of what other reviewers said. Still felt uncomfortable and the plastic presses against the bunion area which, bunion or not, feels bad. Sad to be sending back.

New Balance has been my go-to athletic shoe for years, primarily because they offer a wide shoe for women. I have been ordering the same size, and it has been a reliable fit. What happened? I have just ordered 4 pairs of court shoes to try, and will need to return all four. Each model is too tight and generally uncomfortable. I even reordered one style in the double-wide, but nope. I think the problem is in the height of the toe box. I am very disappointed. But, as always, very pleased with Zappos — you make the process easy!
I'd also recommend:
I am not aware of any other brand of court shoes for women that come in wide sizes.

Great fit if you have wide feet and very stylish. New Balance is one of very few tennis shoes that have wide fit for women

I went from New Balance 9 1/2 wide to these 9 1/2 double wides. Best decision I ever made. I'm no longer walking on the outside edge of the insoles. My feet are nice and flat on the inside of the shoes.

I was wearing a 9.5 wide width New Balance, but I was walking on the outside edge of the insole which was forming painful calluses. I'm on my feet all day at work so I tried these. I'm glad I did. In just four days I was able to rough away the calluses and I'm walking better. I'll be getting another pair soon for everyday running around.

I've been buying new balance tennis shoes for several years. But, I have had this strange experience where sometimes they seem narrower than other times. I couldn't figure out if it was the color or what. But I just ordered a whole bunch of them in different colors and widths -- all labeled as WCH996v3. When I got this last shipment, I realized is some shoes say "hard court" next to the WCH996v3 and some don't. The "hard court" shoes are a little wider than the ones that aren't labeled as "hard court." So now I know I want "hard court" but I still don't know how to go about getting them the next time I order. I just looked back at my order and they all look exactly the same on the website. (None of them are the "clay court" shoes.) If you are trying to get the right width, I recommend buying a whole bunch of these shoes and seeing what you get.

Overall happy with these shoes. Does seem like NB did change their sizing, as others have indicated. I have a wide toe box, narrow heal, and found in the past NB was the perfect tennis shoe for me. While the toe box area was perfect, I do have more room in my heel than than in previous NB shoes I have purchased. Otherwise, would have given the shoes 5 stars.

Cute shoes but not comfortable. I wish I would have gone up a size, I wear custom orthotics and the shoes are rubbing on my big toes. Too late to send them back since I’ve worn them outside. These shoes are very stiff. Hate that I payed good money for a lousy pair of shoes.

I ordered a 2 E and fits tight in the toe box due to my bunions and high arch. Would fit anyone with a normal arch. Love the color and style!

New Balance must have changed their sizing when it comes to width. I used to buy them all the time, but no more. I need the double wide due to bunions and they just dont fit. I need a court shoe for the tennis court. This one doesnt work.

Very stiff, I have many pairs of tennis shoes, all the same size, but this pair was too short and narrow.

I have purchase a lot of new balance tennis shoes in the past for pickleball. I liked everything about these particular shoes except for the part of the shoe that covers the ankle. This part of the shoe comes up too high and bothers my ankle bone. They also felt too stiff to walk around my home to try and break in. I always thought New Balance was made in the USA, hence why I lean toward that brand, but in the specs it says "imported". Maybe that is why I am having a harder time these days finding the right style/fit for me.

I always wear New Balance tennis shoes, but these are not great. They were too stiff to be comfortable. Also, the "pigment" looked black, so I was surprised to see that they are actually navy. My 9 yr old said they looked like shoes her grandpa would wear, but my dad has a solid shoe game, so I don't think that was a negative!

This was the ninth pair of tennis shoes that I tried on and overall the most comfortable for me so I kept them. Pros: They are a great looking shoe; fashionable enough to wear every day. Good support and cushion. Soft, breathable material. Cons: I feel these run a tiny bit wide and larger than other shoes I own, but I'm afraid that sizing down would be too small. I wish I had ordered two sizes to try on. They are a little stiff and clunky. The other complaint I have is that the ankle of the shoe comes up high in the front and rubs my ankle bone, but not badly enough to cause a blister. I give them 4 stars overall.

Nice looking shoes. The 9WW are wide enough across the balls of my feet (measured four inches across). I have many pairs of New Balance court shoes. Oddly, these feel rough on the inside -- above my toes. I would still recommend these for courts shoes.

I'm so disappointed in New Balance. They have always been my go-to shoe for tennis as I can get a women's 11D. However they're cutting their shoes much smaller and narrower. I could not find a good fit in several styles. I didn't want to have to buy men's shoes but I have little alternative.
I'd also recommend:

I wear a size 8 in everyday shoes, low volume foot and this shoe, in a size 9 , absolutely squished my foot to death (how's that for being melodramatic?) Seriously, they were my favorite of 4 pairs I ordered, when I picked them out... and last once I tried them on. Stiff, blocky, tight, inflexible.... very unwelcoming. Back they go.

I normally wear a 9 medium but had to go up 1/2 size. I needed a tennis shoe with lots of stability and chose these based on style and stability ratings. They were very stiff when I first tried them on and I’m debating whether or not to keep them. My concern is having them so stiff that they rub around the ankle. I’ve had a really hard time find tennis shoes that are stylish (which these are), have enough stability built in (which these do) and are comfortable (still deciding).

I love the color and fit of these shoes, but they literally had no arch support. That felt like a terrible match for tennis.

I couldn’t believe how stiff these shoes are. Much more structured than I expected. Perhaps they would soften after wearing, but I’d rather not chance it. I returned them.

OK. I read the reviews and still ordered them. I thought, how bad could they really be?! These are the stiffest, most plank-like athletic shoes I've ever tried on! Granted, I'm new to the sport of tennis, so maybe there is a "playing style" that would benefit from a shoe this stiff?! They were noticeably less comfortable than the Asics, Wilson, and Adidas I also ordered, though they were probably my favorite from a styling perspective. Clearly, they're going back.

I really wanted to like these shoes, but they were too narrow for my wide feet. I wear double wide and usually the New Balance 2E works for me, but these were so narrow I couldn't even fit my orthodics in them.
