I was nervous after reading some of the reviews. For the first few hours of wearing these boots they were a bit stiff, but of course that’s to be expected with new shoes. Also if you wear a higher sock you don’t have to worry about the boot rubbing on your ankle. I love the pointy toe ( vs the frumpy round toe) -it elongates my leg and looks more elegant. I also really like the heel height. Tall enough to be stylish but not so tall you can’t wear them all day. I bought the suede ones and comfortably walked in Paris for hours. However the Aquitalia suede doesn’t hold up and looks old and scruffy pretty quickly so I got these leather ones instead. The only thing is the leather ones run about a half size too big. I’m normally always an 8 1/2 in this brand but an 8 would have fit better.

I got these shoes in the black calf, and they are beautiful. I got these in a 10, which is what I normally wear. The fit is a little snug/narrow compared to most American brands, but after a few wears they've stretched a bit, and if I wear them with tights or socks they come on and off easily. Given that leather stretches, I think sizing up half a size might have been too roomy. I've been looking for a pair of high-quality weatherproof leather booties, but some of the others I've tried (La Canadienne, etc.) looked more appropriate for an older person (I'm 29). These are classic-looking, but the pointy-toe gives them some edge, and they look really cute with a skirt or with cuffed skinny jeans. The zipper pulls do sometimes make noise when walking, but it doesn't bother me enough to return them, since I otherwise really like them. Looking forward to wearing these in the fall and winter!

I wear a size 5.5 in dress shoes and size 6 in some casual shoes. My other Aquatalia booties are a size 6. I ordered a size 6, but I might be a size 5.5 in these (which is unavailable). The ankle is loose, but the real problem is that the shaft hits too high on the ankle and causes terrible friction there when my ankles bend as I walk. In comparison, my other ankle booties hit lower along the ankle bone, a more natural spot where the ankle bends. So even though these look quite nice with the pointed toe shape, I'm returning these.

I have pretty "normal" sized feet and these were way too tight in the toe and loose in the ankle. Got them in the suede and they are SO much better, love the shape. I sized up a half size!

I came back from a trip to Paris obsessed with leopard booties. I searched for months because I wanted something with a low heel (but not flat). I had almost given up when I saw these. Ordered them in a 39, although I typically wear an 8 or 8 1/2. They fit well with a little extra room, but now so much as to feel sloppy. Wore them to work the other day with a thin sport sock. They were pretty comfortable out of the box, but oh my word, about an hour before I left work, the outside of the boot (not the size with the zipper) began to sig and rub against my ankle. It was literally unbearable. I had marks on the outside of my legs when I got home. I don't know what happened, but I have to say I'm pretty crushed. I bought some ankle socks to try and cover my foot more the next time I wear them, but if that doesn't help, I'm afraid these will be expensive mistakes. Caveat emptor!
