My little guy has to have a solid black athletic shoe for his school uniform and we have tried so many. This shoe meets all of our requirements: comfortable, no break-in period, lightweight, breathable, machine washable. The ONLY issue with this shoe is that it runs small. When I ordered it originally there weren't any reviews so I went by what the description said - that the shoe runs large and that you should order a hals size down. This could not be further from the truth. My son is an 11. We ordered a 10.5 and couldn't even get his foot in the shoe. So we are returning and getting an 11.5. They must have meant to say that the shoe runs small and to order a half size up. Otherwise it's a perfect shoe for everyday wear at school.

We have to have white shoes for my kids' school uniform. We always come back to these shoes for my younger kids (because velcro) and the wonderful ability to throw them in the wash (although I have been known to throw Nike and New Balance in as well with no issues). My goal each year is to buy one pair of uniform shoes that will last from August to May - I really don't want to spend the money on shoes twice that we only wear because of our school's uniform policy. Most years these shoes can stand up to my boys and girl's active playground play day in and day out. We size up at the beginning of each year and sometimes we only just squeak our toes into them by May, but they haven't failed me yet.

My son needed shoes like this for his uniform. He is so picky and has made me return the stride rite and pediped ones, but he loves these! He said they were really comfy and he can run fast in them. Hooray!

I liked the idea of a washable shoe for a school uniform. These have been pretty good. No complaints about comfort, and they are quick and easy to put on/take off. We ordered size 1 in white, and it is the same length as a pair of Asics in size 1.5. The insoles are removable. I took off one star because even though they are washable, the nylon mesh holds stains and doesn't look very clean after going through the washing machine. Durability has been good. They lasted the entire school year.
